Was looking to change from Rekon and this looked to fit the bill. Like the extra casing strength in the sidewall. Not sure why they need to call it a Down Country tire and put obnoxious red labeling on it. Running it on the rear with a Mazza trail up front replicating the set up I had with Maxxis. Have mounted on Nobl hoop @ 30mm internal width.

These are quite fast and light and grip well when new - which is why we chose them for racing (NICA). However, they could be more durable considering the price. Also, the graphics are obnoxious. They need to ditch the strange red graphic.

I ride barzas on my everyday funhardtail. Tried the syerras on my aggressive hardtail , nukeproof scout. They are slightly wider and noticably higher rolling resistance than the barzas . Syerras are better for trail grip than barzas. The syerras do well on urban also, but the barzas have lower rolling resistance. Because my order of mazzas was refunded due to unavailability, i have gotten a set of syerras for my every day fun hardtail for when the barzas wear out.

Using these tires on their intended purpose 130/120 trail bike but the feel too much on the XC side to be a true downcountry tire. Theres no doubting these roll real fast. But when you are going fast the tire should hold the line which these tires dont give much grip when pushed. Its almost immediate when you realized when you have lost grip but for a XC/Trail tire shouldn't be this way. Like this as a rear tire only but because Vittoria gave these awful red graphic treatment, it does not have the same brand design like their other tires. So they really are red-headed stepchilds no one wants.

Roll fast, limited grip.

I think these tires could work well under some circumstances but less than ideal in the pnw. I put some time on them in Moab and liked them on slick rock but they're not great on loose over hard and down right sketchy in the wet on rocks and roots. Not a confidence inspiring front either. They roll fast and seem to hold up okay but they don't work for my daily rides. Would not put on the front again either.

I also feel they dont have the grip i need, for the rocks i ride.. i always liked their road tires, and their cross tires, maybe i should have tried a different model.. as these are new i may have

Like previous reviewer said, it doesnt grip well. Several times i felt myself washing out in corners, and on rocks even smooth ones.. and i am not one to corner extremely fast. Coming off a bad fall i dont feel confident in these at all.. maybe they would work great on rail trails. But for the riding here in the northeast. Not

Great aggressive XC tire. I run this up front with a barzo in rear. Has good grip and rolls fast.
