For Dry Conditions + Mixed Terrain
Fast rolling, aggressive cornering, and a lightweight construction – the Vittoria Mezcal XC Tire is the tubeless-ready tire for speed and smiles while exploring XC singletrack that mixes hardpack, roots, and rocks.
The continuous center line features offset extensions that are siped to multiply the number of edges propelling you up the trail, and the rear siping on the shoulder knobs is angled for fast cornering on hard, slippery surfaces. For climbing, cornering, or careening down hill, no tire cooks like the Mezcal.

Reviews
I had been running Maxxis Ardent tires for a few years, but they have gotten too expensive. Someone on Reddit mentioned the Vittoria Mezcal tires and I thought I would check them out. They were $50 cheaper per tire than the Ardents and seemed to be rated about the same for rolling resistance and grip, so I gave them a try. I was shocked at how much better they were than the Ardents. I can ride 1-3 mph faster everywhere. The grip is amazing, like being on rails. For my riding style (fast) they are the best tires I have ever ridden.
This tire is expensive but what a great racing tire. Very smooth with low rolling resistance yet grippy enough to do the job even on rather unstable surfaces. They lighter eight, last quite a long time too and are relatively resistant to punctures - we run tubeless with sealant. A good value & a great performer.
I started using these in the Sierra Foothills after repeated flats with several other options. These have a fast center line for road and smooth sections and great grip in the corners and when it gets loose. Best of all they handle the sharp rock, quartz and others, that we have in my area. Not a single puncture or slice flat on my first pair.
