Description

Light and supple gravel tires

Designed with the unknown in mind, the Teravail Rutland Gravel Tire takes the guesswork out of selecting the right tire for the ride. Ramped, tightly spaced center lugs reduce rolling resistance while more aggressive shoulder and transition lugs provide grip in loose conditions.

The 700 x 38 Rutland is the lowest volume offering in the line providing riders with a firmer more responsive ride. Higher tire pressure allows it to roll more easily on smoother surfaces.

If you want to master your terrain, you want Teravail Rutland Gravel Tires.

Great tire off road, wears down like an eraser on road
rating

I read many reviews looking for an excellent off-road gravel tire. A tough job for a tire to be great off-road and stand up on the road to and from the trail. I took a bet on the Rutland. On dirt and gravel fire roads the tire is excellent. On the road, it wears down like an eraser. I'm surprised how quickly the lugs disappear. Thus, I try to avoid the asphalt where possible. I keep looking and not purchase a second set.

Excellent gavel tire for when things get gnarly

I picked up a set of the Rutlands (700x38C) for some upcoming gravel races with much gnarlier more technical riding (specifically the Vermont Overland). Setting these tires up was a breeze - they have a tall section with a diamond-pattern above the bead which makes them easy to pop into place. I suspect I could have used a regular floor pump to get them on. I set them up tubeless on some Zipp wheels.

During the race, I ran them at 45psi and they held up great. Tons of grip in sloppy conditions and they felt very comfortable when descending.

Great grip, softens the ride, seems to be somewhat durable even on pavement use.

Switched from Schwalbe X-One 32mm to the Rutland 38mm on my CX bike. The tires seem to have better traction and durability while also providing a more comfortable ride as the bike is used mostly for gravel riding and racing.

Fast rolling, quick wearing

Good looking tire with excellent smooth rolling and good grip on dirt. In 300 miles of riding, 70% pavement and 30% dirt, rear tire tread is about half that of the front, suggesting these tires could be bald within 700 miles of use. Set tubless, front tire has difficultly holding air.
