Description

The Journey Is Part Of The Destination

The Schwalbe G-One Overland is the gravel tire for commuters, adventurers and e-bikers. Designed for 50% road, 50% off-road use, Schwalbe have introduced this latest edition in the G-One line to be smooth rolling on pavement but capable on gravel and tough enough to hold up to e-bike use.

This tire offers high durability from the tightly-packed center out to the large shoulder blocks. The result is good cornering grip for stability in the dirt and a faster ride on the roads in between. It's the tire for getting you where you want to go no matter what obstacles lie in your way.

Features:

  • SUPER GROUND construction feels comfortable in any terrain with a balanced ratio of puncture protection and smooth rolling
  • ADDIX Speedgrip compound
  • E-50 E-bike rated
  • Tubeless Ready
  • 40, 45, or 50c options

Favorite gravel tire

Bought these this year for the Cascade events. They're awesome. Roll pretty fast on pavement. Handle all the gravel surfaces well. Ride a fair bit of single track with them too and they grip surprisingly well. Even on the slippery Bend trails. Have also been pleasantly surprised with puncture resistance going over some sharp rocks.

Put two 700x50's on a Kona Sutra ahead of a trip to the Alberta Rockies. The bike previously had toured on 700x40 Conti Terra Trails, but those were a little too narrow for the off-road trails we often hit. The Overlands provide a lots of contact patch, lots of cush, very reasonable traction in loose dirt, and still roll very nicely on pavement. It's hard to find a true touring tire in this size (or 29x2.0) that blends on and off-road so well. Hoping these hold up for a long time through commuting, touring, and light trail action.

Crazy fast, surprisingly grippy

I've been running Rene Herse Oracle Ridge tires on my gravel bike for the past three years. I didn't think they could be improved uponuntil now. These Schwalbe G-ONE Overlands are noticeably faster on pavement. So much so that I'm thinking about getting bigger chainrings; I'm spinning out in places I didn't before. Yet the Overlands have plenty of bite in the loose stuffperhaps a bit less than the Rene Herse tires, but not by much. Then there is the issue of cost. Sixty something is so much better than ninety something. Finally, there's flat protection. Even with the Endurance casing, I was getting the occasional flat with the Oracle Ridges. Time will tell, but I'm confident these Schwalbes have better flat protection.

I ride on Gravel and Road, but Idaho gravel is loose so its hard to use a semi slick. I bought these and I already beat a KOM on a gravel section. They are about 1 mph slower than my road GP5000, but thats to be expected. These are fast and very grippy.
