Description

High-Volume, Low-Profile

The Maxxis Aspen WT MaxxSpeed/EXO/TR 29" is one of their premier XC race tires. A low center tread height allows the Aspen to roll quickly while substantial – for XC – side knobs provide cornering traction. For 2023, this version now features the new MaxxSpeed compound.

The Aspen pushes the limits of a lightweight XC tire designed to have minimal rolling resistance. The Aspen is designed with a high-volume casing to smooth out the roughest roots and rocks, while the MaxxSpeed compound gives you the grip you need to control your ride at the highest speeds it can provide.

So if crossing the finish line first is your top priority, then the Aspen was designed for you.

MaxxSpeed

Developed in cooperation with Nino Schurter, the winner of more World Championship and World Cup titles than any rider in XC history, the new MaxxSpeed uses a silica filler to improve both speed and wet traction. Testing shows that MaxxSpeed reduces rolling resistance by more than 25%, providing an edge which can shave as much as a minute off a rider's time in a 90-minute race.

This dramatic improvement in performance hasn't been confined to the lab. MaxxSpeed has delivered real-world results for Schurter and other SCOTT-SRAM riders for the past several seasons, aiding multiple World Cup and World Championship wins.

EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of Maxxis tires. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for enhanced durability for gravel, XC, and light-duty trail riding.

Maxxis recommends that you use Wide Trail XC tires with a 25-30mm wide rim (30mm is optimal). Maxxis recommends a minimum of 6mm clearance between the tire and all parts of the bicycle frame and fork.

Great tire for dry smooth, fast, flowing, trails. Also, great on gravel. Not great in mud or deep soft stuff. Definitely 100% XC race tire, this is not a down country or trail tire. Watch the UCU World Cup XCO races and youll see what this tire is made for.

I have these tire on my HT which I only ride on XCO type trails, it fast, smooth, compliant, l love it for that.
