I haven't bought a pair of Pearl Izumi shorts or bib shorts in years. The fabric on the older ones I have are not compression or even very snug fitting, but it is the chamois pad that I have always had a problem with. They (3D chamois pads I beleive) are just no good for me on rides longer than 25-30 miles. They have always been my worst performing shorts and I seldom use them anymore.

I took a chance and tried these P.R.O. In-R-Cool bib shorts because they were listed as having a 4D chamois pad. I fully expected to return them, but I was plesantly surprised. These are wonderful bib shorts. They are tight fitting in the leg and that chamois pad is great. My skinny butt doesn't have a lot of natural padding so a very good chamois pad (which isn't the same as a thick pad)is a must. This 4D pad comes through with flying colors even on very long rides.

After a few rides with these PI shorts I ordered a second pair. My dislike of PI shorts has been erased by this model.

I am 6'2 tall, 175 pounds and the size medium fits perfectly.

I would recommend these bib shorts to a friend.

6-1", 200lbs. XL fit perf.

These are as good as they get, however buy one size larger than you think you need. Trust me on that one.

I love pearl Izumi pro bibs. Own many brands but always reach for the pearls. Great fit , fabric and the pro 4d chamois just works. Don't skimp on your bibs. Buy the best you can afford and you won't regret it.
