Saddles are hard to review based on how person-specific they are. So I'll keep this to technical details. Weight was a little higher (165g) than the claimed 145g. Twenty grams may not be much, but if you're buying a carbon saddle, you're thinking about weight. Construction looks to be solid. I've only got about 1k miles on the saddle, which isn't much, however I've had no problems so far. Stitching and gluing is holding still and doesn't look too be moving. The carbon rails look and feel solid. I didn't have any issue mounting them on my Trek Emonda. Tightened to the speced torque on the saddle instructions, which was less than the seat mast, but is holding fine. I've been riding fiziks for probably 10 years now, and will likely continue to do so. Great price at Western bike works, no complaints.
It is a pricy but I have found it worth the cost. Very comfortable and light. I have a Kurve Snake saddle and this was worth a try because it's considered a snake as well. It's light weight and fit the bill. I have no issue riding distance it just works for me I would definitely buy it again
I purchased this seat to replace the seat that came on my Trek Madone. My other bicycle has an Arione Classic saddle. I found that seat best suited my riding style. I wanted another Fizik Arione seat, but wrestled with the model. I chose the R1 and couldn't be happier.
