Lighten up, without giving up comfort.

The R1 a top shelf offering in the Arione family, one step below the Arione 00 model. Wing-Flex sections allow the saddle to move at key areas, particularly the thigh contact points.

Despite this obvious flexibility, the carbon composite material still provides stiffness and support where needed most for long-term comfort and pedaling efficiency. Relieved side areas eliminate chafing, and the long, narrow profile offers ample support in a variety of riding positions.

F'izi:k uses a high durometer foam composite for cushioning and support. This material offers exceptional rebound, increasing the saddle's durability and extending its service life. Below, the 3D braided carbon rails provide aggressive weight savings and comfortable vibration dampening.

Great for those who it fits
by CW

Saddles are hard to review based on how person-specific they are. So I'll keep this to technical details. Weight was a little higher (165g) than the claimed 145g. Twenty grams may not be much, but if you're buying a carbon saddle, you're thinking about weight. Construction looks to be solid. I've only got about 1k miles on the saddle, which isn't much, however I've had no problems so far. Stitching and gluing is holding still and doesn't look too be moving. The carbon rails look and feel solid. I didn't have any issue mounting them on my Trek Emonda. Tightened to the speced torque on the saddle instructions, which was less than the seat mast, but is holding fine. I've been riding fiziks for probably 10 years now, and will likely continue to do so. Great price at Western bike works, no complaints.

Excellent saddle
by Tangible

A little wider and the mountvrails a little shorter than the standard R1, necessitating a position almost all the way back possible.

But very solid and more comfortable for my 12mm separated sitz bones.

It is a pricy but I have found it worth the cost. Very comfortable and light. I have a Kurve Snake saddle and this was worth a try because it's considered a snake as well. It's light weight and fit the bill. I have no issue riding distance it just works for me I would definitely buy it again

Good value. A little different than the CX but super comfortable once you get used to it.

The CX is a little different. Not sure how but it will take getting used to if you are upgrading it won't be seamless. Once you get used to it, it will be super comfortable.

An all day saddle

I purchased this seat to replace the seat that came on my Trek Madone. My other bicycle has an Arione Classic saddle. I found that seat best suited my riding style. I wanted another Fizik Arione seat, but wrestled with the model. I chose the R1 and couldn't be happier.
