I purchased the 27.5 x 1.5 (1.5 is equal to 38mm). They measure 43mm mounted on 19mm internal width rims, which is closer to 1.75 (44.5mm). Im wondering if they were mislabeled. In addition to being too wide for my fenders, theyre also really heavy - twice the weight of Panaracer Col De La Vie that I was using previously.
Mounting them to the rim was somewhat difficult, and required use of a tire lever. Once on, the bead popped into place nicely.
They roll well, and are quieter than the Panaracers thanks to a smooth tread pattern. I wouldnt recommend them for off-pavement, although they would handle hard-packed gravel or rail trails with ease.
I chose this tire for touring because I wanted a higher psi for heavy loads, and extra protection against punctures. In those respects, it meets my expectations. However, the size is not as advertised and theyre too wide for me to use on my bike.
