Perfect for unpredictable weather.

The Showers Pass Double Century EX offers superb waterproof protection in a lightweight, breathable package. The secret to this balance is Cocona® Xcelerator™, a naturally derived waterproof yet venting material. A 2.5-layer fabric construction helps wick moisture for a drier next-to-skin feel. The lightweight fabric and minimalist design allows the jacket to packs down small enough to fit in a jersey pocket when the rain clears.

The Double Century EX Jacket is available in Orange or White and features reflective accents for low light visibility.

  • Seam taped for wind and water resistance
  • Core vents and and back vent for flow thru ventilation
  • 360 degrees of 3M reflective trim
  • Chest pocket with water resistant zipper
  • Hood Compatible
  • Light loop on back
  • Cinch cord on hem
  • Easy to use two way zipper with storm flap and rain gutter

Very breathable and packable, but quality is of concern

What I like

A lot more breathable and comfortable than the old technology. Of course you are gonna perspire if it's warm out. But sometimes you don't get to change your clothes when you get somewhere and showing up with rain drenched clothes won't cut it. No rain jacket out there is gonna be 100% confortable in the heat. (My solution is a little dusting of unscented powder, as well as wearing clothes that are quick drying like wool or poly). It has pit zips and a back vent, and a very comfortable collar. I like being able to tighten the cuffs, because I buy my rain jackets a little big and this way they don't flop over your hands, and you can also pull the sleeves up and tighten the cuffs at your elbows to cool off a little more. Even though it is breathable, it seems to cut the wind fairly well so I've worn it even when it's dry out so on days when it's somewhere between warm and chilly it's the perfect light jacket and packs away very well. It has one front zip pocket that fits a phone or a wallet. And of course the back is cut long for bike specific needs, but the jacket also looks great any other time, and gets a lit of compliments (despite being pretty heavy on the branding)

What I don't like

The zipper is ultimately my only problem with this jacket and the only reason why I've decided to send it back. A month or so into using it, two of the teeth are bent on the zipper, so that it catches slightly when zipping up. It hasn't become totally defective, but since zippers are major sources of product failures I didn't want to take the chance. It's probably only a matter time. The zipper seems cheap compared to the quality of the rest of the jacket, and if the teeth can be bent or damaged easily then packability is pointless. Sad to send it back for something that Showers Pass could easily fix in the manufacturing process. Maybe I just got the one dud, but my trust in the brand is a bit low now.

Props to western bike works, however, for taking it back worn, rather than leaving me waiting for weeks for showers pass to repair it (look at how SP's guarantee works, it's kind of a hassle) and leaving me without a jacket. I will definitely be coming back to this bike store. They have awesome deals and great customer service.

Versatile weather-beater

Quite happy with this versatile weather-shredding jacket. Have been slipping a thin downy insulating jacket under it and using it to cut wind, keep out sleet during the chilly Wisconsin winter. Very comfortable and I appreciate the build quality, bright colors and ample reflective strips.
