Light as a feather.

The Mavic Ksyrium Pro line of wheels has been ridden by just about every level of rider, from the weekend warrior to the seasoned pro. With its featherweight construction and smooth, responsive riding experience, Mavic brought in their UST tubeless technology. With a 17mm wide UST rim, mounting a tubeless tire has become easier than ever while lowering the rolling resistance.

Mavic's Ksyrium Pro UST Wheelset features ISM 4D milling, reducing unnecessary material to maximize strength resulting in a better interface between the spokes and the rim for quicker accelerations and better handling. Further improving the spoke/rim interface, Mavic's Fore technology replaces traditional spoke-hole drilling with a threaded receptacle for the spoke nipple to be directly screwed into the rim, becoming part of the structure of the rim itself. With an internal diameter of 17mm, these wheels pair well with tires 25mm and wider, providing a smooth tire/rim interface that cuts through the wind.

The lightweight, stiff, and strong Ksyrium Pro UST rim is laced with bladed straight pull spokes to the equally-matched aluminum hubs, the rear hub uses Mavic's Isopulse lacing pattern, using a radial pattern on the drive side and 2-cross on the non-drive side, resulting in a more balanced spoke tension. The Mavic Ksyrium Pro UST Wheelset comes mounted with Mavic's 700x25c Yksion Pro UST Tubeless ready tires, in front- and rear-specific versions.

Nice & light, but some caveats
rating

I've had the Ksyrium Pro wheelset for about 2 months and ride them several times a week on road rides.

Pros They are very light, seem quite strong, roll very smoothly, and are nicely trued. They come with Mavic tires already mounted and taped, and the only main task is to add the sealant that also comes with the wheels.

Cons I'm not a big fan of the Mavic tires that come with the wheels. They are 25c but a little narrow. Not as confident with the grip. And I got a front puncture from some tiny glass that spewed sealant all over the road and my bike. I changed the rear tire to a regular clincher (continental 4 season), but it was extremely difficult to mount, and I'm just hoping I don't get a flat!

It's my first experience with tubeless. I liked the ride and love the low weight but the hassle of sealant and the fact that it's so difficult to mount regular clinchers lead me to think I should have picked different wheels.

I got these to replace my Zipp Firecrest (404 rear303 front) clincher wheelset on my S-works Tarmac because I wanted something that would actually stop when wet. After 2,000 miles I'm delighted with these wheels. They're actually lighter than the Zipps and they just feel like they spin up faster. The braking is terrific even in the rain. The Mavics are also stiffer than most other wheels, so the handling feels very secure and controlled. The tubeless tires inflated to 87psi are very comfortable and absorb minor road chatter. They're noticeably more comfortable-especially when you get on chip-seal. And the wheelset includes everything you need to go tubeless-tires, sealant, injector, valves, and even a valve core tool. It's a great deal on a great wheelset.

Easy to set up tubeless. Stiff. Good braking. The only downside is the narrow rim.

I bought these for bad weather riding and training rides and have been very impressed with them. They feel stiff like my carbon wheels, but the braking is substantially better. The tubeless setup was easy and I really like the new Mavic UST tubeless tires as they feel like you are riding tubulars when you keep them at 80psi or so.

Undecided

I'm undecided whether these wheels are worth the expense. I agree they ride and handle nice but there are a lot of wheels that do that for a lot less money. The idea of tubeless tires sounds great but these don't work the same way your car tires work. For these to work as designed you have to insert a sealer in a syringe which is provided. However if you ever need to do any tire work in the future this will be a real mess to work with. My car tires don't need a sealer to hold air. I also had no idea the beads on these tires was so stiff. I did try to take one tire off the rim before I put in the sealer and broke 2 tire levers doing it. It will be a real problem changing these tires in the future. So I'll wait and see how these wheels hold up versus the wheels I have on my other bikes whether they are worth the expense and hassle.
