Reviews
I bought these to replace Shimano M8020s (platform style SPDs) on a gravel bike. First, the engagement feels like Shimano SPDs, maybe slightly easier entry but still hold like SPDs. The Look X-Tracks seem to have a slightly larger platform (which I prefer on gravel bikes) compared to M8000/9000 (XT/XTR) and weigh less than the M8020s. With only a couple of months riding these, I don't know how they will wear; time will tell. I still like Shimano SPDs but I would recommend this pedal as an alternative; the engagement feels the same but the price is better. My only vain knock is they aren't quite as good looking as XT/XTR SPDs but otherwise good job Look; I would buy again.
Over the years, I've tried every Shimano SPD peddle. I use them only on my road bikes as I want to be able to walk around. They are good, but over time the side I clip out of to stop, which gets the most ware, eventually seems to develop an annoying clicking sound....So I'm trying this Look brand. So far so good. I like the appearance , and the larger platform for my shoe. It may be subjective but seems to be easier to clip into on the first try. Will they develop the annoying clicking? I don't know as I've not had them that long.
