Description
When Summer comes knocking.
With the rising temperatures, most riders think that means it's time to hang up the baselayer. Castelli's Core Mesh 3 Short Sleeve Baselayer was designed to be the perfect addition to every summer kit. Intentionally made as minimalist as possible, the Core Mesh 3 is minimally seamed with an open-mesh fabric that pulls moisture off the skin and into the air. The Magic Mesh fabric does away with Lycra without losing out on stretch, allowing this base layer to allow the rider to stay drier, cooler, longer.
Features:
- Summer-weight short sleeve baselayer designed for optimal comfort and moisture wicking.
- Minimally-seamed with a lightweight construction for chafe reduction.
- Magic Mesh fabric, 90% polyester, 10% Elastene.
- Claimed weight: 88 grams.

Reviews
Keeps me dryer and cooler than a jersey alone by improving airflow next to my skin. I use it in moderate to warm temperatures. I ordered two sizes larger for a comfortable fit that is not too tight. Racers may prefer to order one size larger. I've owned lots of Castelli clothing, and their sizing is unique.
Road cyclist. I am 6' and 180 lbs. Bought a LXL, but it was too tight. The mesh gave my skin a waffle appearance. It could use a bit more give or flexibility. I have an old Defeet base layer which is much more comfortable.
I use this as a cold-weather base layer, piling on a short or long sleeve jersey on over it with a cycling jacket over that, layering as the temperature dictates. The size as is the case with everything Castelli: runs a couple sizes smaller than what I'm used to. The material is a mesh which is perfect for layering. It's a quick wash and dry (don't put velcro closures in with the wash, they like sticking to the jersey). Since I just bought this, I haven't tried the intended purpose of cool summer riding; but will do so in the coming months.
I have the older version of this and loved it, so I bought another one. The material changed quite a bit and is not as comfortable. It is still a very good under layer, especially for when it is warmer weather.
It fits a bit small, so go up a size. I am 61 and 190 and got an XL. I probably should have gone with an XXL.
Still a good product.
FIRST TIME I BOUGHT A CORE SHIRT...THE PROBLEM I SEE IS IT COMES ONLY SM or LXL...I REALLY NEED AN M .
IT GOES ON VERY TIGHT AND I NEED HELP TO TAKE IT OFF...IT REALLY IS SKIN TIGHT ON MY 62 KILO 5'7 SKINNY FRAME....I'D BUY A REAL MEDIUM BUT IT DOESN'T EXIST IN CASTELLI (MY FAVORITE BRAND)
