Man, these are good looking. Sure, I had to use tire levers to get them on the rims, and it was a tight fit, but once seated, they accomplished their intended purpose with style. They're wide enough to be very comfy, and fast enough to let me rip along on pavement, but with a texture that keeps me from wiping out when iI hit dirt. You already know the GravelKings have been around forever, but once you're riding on them, you immediately know why they aren't just called GravelPrinces or GravelDukes. These are rubber royalty, and they're reliably rad.

I have used Panaracer SS tires on my gravel bike for a few years now. I have found the tires to be tough and long-lasting. In particular, on some routes I ride them on canal right-of-ways and ranch roads where the base gravel is a sharp basalt. I usually run them at 27 psi with 60 ml of Orange Seal. One real plus is I find them relatively easy to install and the tires seat easily before pressure reaches 70 psi or so (I use an old-as-the-hills Sears compressor, so air is not a problem). I have also used Panaracer SK tires, and find those to be great also, if you are looking for a center tread.

I purchased these as a replacement for the Maxxis road tires that came stock on my road bike. Installation only resulted in a few curses and I was able to seat these with a Bontrager flash pump. After hearing of the difficulties that others had, I was happily surprised. I took them on the road for a ride today and they provided decent grip and traction. The verdict is still out on durability and I was also slightly concerned by a bit of chalkiness that was on the tires in their package. Time will tell, but I'll keep them for now.
