Frequent year 'round gravel and road riding. Easy enter and release. My first pair wore out and were replaced under warranty. They are easy to maintain so I'm on top of it more often now. One major design flaw: What's with the sharp concave edges on the ends of the spindle housing? Real ankle-biters if you scrape up against them. I will dull them off with a file once they're out of warranty (if they last that long!). The ends should be shaped just the opposite in a convex shape.

Shimano XTR pedals are light, durable and maintenance-free. The cleat to pedal attach point is smooth and consistent. No higher bar than XTR.

i have been a user of xtr and xt pedals for years. pros for these are that they are thinner in height. this is why i bought them. i have broken several pairs of xt and xtr's due to pedal strikes and this new series is a bit thinner. don't know if it'll help, but it can't hurt.

Switched to SPD pedals because they double sided easier to get into, also the SPD shoes are easier to walk with. I have these on both road bikes and mountain bikes and use the same SPD clear shoes

I'm using these pedals 10 yrs ago then switch to crankbrother now switched to spd i think the best pedal so for now on i'm using for life .

These short axle XTR pedals are ideal to properly align your legs, feet and particularly your knees to the crank.

Pedals have no problems. Smooth, as XTR is always.

Using them on a commuter bike just to give it some extra swag.

Currently using these on my cyclocross/gravel bike. Durable, lightweight, easy to adjust.

I have them on road bike so I can get coffee and rolls , they are easy for city ridding when setting the release to the easiest position. They snap in solid when crossing busy streets. I can walk in and get the coffee and rolls with ease. These are the best coffee and donut Pedals made in my opinion.

All my bikes have these pedals on them and finally replacing one pair set that is 12 years old

XTRs are rock solid and pretty light pedals.

I bought these for my road bike because I already use spd pedals on my gravel bike.

As others have said, these are the gold standard. I have had a set on my mountain bike for six years and they work as well as they did the day I bought them. I've had a set on my gravel bike for two years and same thing - zero issues. They just work reliably and with almost no maintenance (I cleaned and re-greased the bearings on the mountain bike set, which took all of five minutes. I've done no maintenance on the gravel bike set). As far as bang-for-buck, they cannot be beat.

Great pedals! Last forever. I replaced the cleat holders on my 10 year old XTR's and they performed just like new afterwards. The new ones went on my road bike. Same shoe compatibility with my mountain bike.

Shimano pedals are the gold standard for pedals in terms of functionality and durability. Bombproof, no off-plane movement between shoe and pedal, thoughtful release value range. The 52mm spindle versions take things a step farther by getting your effective Q factor closer to that of a road bike. Great for folks like me with narrow hips who split their time on- and off-road. Highly recommend for folks sensitive to the ever-increasing Q factor of today's MTBs but don't want to compromise functionality.

This is my 3rd set of these pedals. I have them on 3 different bikes, the oldest set are on a 1997 Santa Cruz Heckler. I have been beating on that set for over 25 years. They hold up well to pedal strikes, the axles are all still straight. This newest set went on a restored Kos Kruiser. Love these pedals.

These pedals give me a solid platform to push against for mountain and road racing...

And since these handle the dirt and mud better I prefer one setup for both.
