I bought these pedals for the gravel bike I take on RV trips with my wife. Our rides together are typically around 10 miles, relatively slow and dont require a lot of climbing. So, I like to do these rides with trail shoes and use the platform side. However, I do bring bike shorts and bike shoes on these RV trips so I can clip in for more challenging rides on my own. These pedals work fine for my needs. But, I would add that clipping in isnt as easy as with my other Shimano SPD pedals. Also, the pedals arentt weighted so that either one side or the other rests in an up position. This is a bit of a pain to deal with. Finally, these are Shimano pedals and like the 10+ sets I have for my other bikes, I expect these will be bomb proof.

I bought theses pedals for my hybrid bike originally and I liked them so much I bought another set for my road bike. Its the best of both worlds! I can clip in for a long ride or ride with tennis shoes for a quick run. Definitely the right pedal for me!!!

I got these on sale, but even after the sale the price was awesome (the regular price)
They work well on both sides, I use them on my commuter bike, as does my sone (we bought two sets). They clip in easily and the shoe side grabs the bottom.

Love these pedals and the flexibility to clip in or not. I have the shoes that clip in but my daughter doesn’t and with these pedals there is no need to swap out the clip less pedals for standard pedals. These are easily adjusted to set the tension: tighter, harder to unclip or looser, easier to unclip. I already had these pedals on another road bike and liked them so much I bought this set for my other road bike.

I really enjoy the versatility of these pedals. I enjoy the efficiency and consistency that SPD pedals offer but, occasionally I just want to jump on and ride the park or convenience store around the block. The flat side offers you the ability to ride safely without having your cleated shoes on. As I have started to increase the distance that I ride I have also found value in the ability to unclip and pedal for a while on the flat side for comfort.

These pedals are great because you can clip in or ride with regular shoes without having to switch out pedals. They also have a more traditional look, so I fit them on to one of my vintage bikes (the flat side has slots for toe clips and straps). Durable and inexpensive. Great pedals.

I put these on my comfort bike to replace the rubber (Trek) pedals. The grip on the non-clip side is outstanding using rubber soled athletic shoes. I tested the clips but haven't used them in earnest yet. I'll do that on some more extended bike trail rides. For in the city, not having clips is really nice. One annoyance was starting out from a stop light with the clip side on top, but I found that a half rotation of the crank (without stepping on it) brought it to the flat side. It got natural pretty quickly.

After 10 years, 8,000 touring miles and countless miles in town, bearings finally gave out. So I got a new pair.

I've had several pairs of these over the years. If you use your bike in a variety of ways these pedals can be really useful. I used to ride less than 2 miles to work (now retired) or maybe to a store or a friend's place. Didn't need bike shoes to do that. But I ride recreationally 100-125 miles weekly otherwise and these were just fine for my needs. And, more than once on weekend rides I forgot my shoes going to the meet-up point. No problem.

I have a electra towie I commute to work on riding about 6 miles. I was using spd dedals where I needed to bring an extra pair of shoes to wear at work until I found these two sided pedals. I use the non clip side when I use regular shoes for short rides and the clip side with bike shoes for long rides.

Very pleased with these pedals. I like the click in & the flat pedal option also.

I just want to second what has already been said, both sides of this pedal are extremely functional (cleat or no cleat) and they are solid construction. I'm using them for the daily commute and they are a joy to ride with. Catch them on sale and you've got a double bonus.

Got these for my 'weekend' bike and great so far. Was worried that the weight of the SPD side would make it harder to get to the flat side, but no problem. A quick glance and a tap of the toe and away you go.

Solid pedals at a good price. I bought these as soon as I saw them because I already have a set for one bike and I wanted to have the same rig on my new bike. Riding shuttle or IMBA trails, you can use either paddling shoes or Mtn bike shoes with the choice of pedal side. Great option.

I put these on my hybrid bike that I use for inside training where weight doesn't matter, and for kicking around town in. Nice to be able to just jump on the bike with regular shoes when I want and yet be able to use with bike shoes as well.

Not a whole lot to say, holds cleats well, runs smoothly and quietly, good float, easily adjustable.

Very pleased with these pedals purchased to replace my pedals that were 25 years old. Bought these so that I could use my existing MTB shoes with SPD clips and on the other side, attached toe clips so that I could remain true to the CA Erioca event that I rode earlier in April. Pedals work extremely well and I'd recommend them to anyone that wants to maintain that vintage look to their road bike.

They're heavy as hell, but it's super convenient to have both options.

I ride on and off the trails and like the flexibility of having a stable pedal platform for those technical areas were I cannot clip back in in time
