I went to a shop and tried about four brands and these were the best fit. I also tried the Elite and Select line, but the paneling and fit just felt wrong on my body. The chamois is amazing at what it does and I have toured for several days without smell or chafing from rub. Highly suggest going to shop and trying on a bunch of different types, do not look at price, just find what works for your body and motion.

I purchased these to replace a pair of the same, that have been my go to shorts for long rides, as they are very comfortable. Unfortunately, I have not used these, as they are simply too small, despite the sizing chart.

I started with PI many years ago but as they needed replacing I decided to try some of the other popular brands (Italian, French...). I found that the PIs, with the 1-D chamois are the best fitting and most comfortable shorts for me. I have noticed lately that the sizes are getting a little smaller so you may want to order up a size.
My only complaint is that after about 2 years the black fades to a copper making it appear as thought they are see-thru! However, PI has replaced the affected ones - nice! I am 6-2 and have been using a size XL. I ride about 150 miles per week.

Last year I bought the PRO shorts and loved them. I always wear Medium and when I tried on the new ones purchased in 2015 they were too tight. Not slightly too tight, but very constricting and uncomfortable. I only have a 30 inch waist, so this is strange. Not only was the waist tight, but the leg panels narrowed very oddly. So, I exchanged them for Large. Even the large size is, while plenty roomy in the waist, tight in the thighs. I don't understand what Pearl was trying to do with these, but they failed. The only thing good about these are the insert.

I'm 5' 10, 175lbs with a 34 waist and I can barely get the large shorts on, and once on, they are too tight and too uncomfortable to ride in. I trust these are great shorts but I can't wear them so I have to give them a low rating until I get the small sizing issue worked out. I've been wearing PI shorts for over 12 years and have not had this experience before. I typically wear the Elite model and not the PRO. I have several pairs of large Elites that I'm swimming in so I tried a medium PRO first and could not even get them up to my waist. The large PROs are only slightly bigger than the mediums. So now I guess I need to try the XL or go back the the Elites...

I ride mountain and cross in So Cal. Need shorts that can vent a lot of sweat and stay up. Replaced my tired top line pearl izumi's - with the new model. I preferred the old model (more supple and had a draw string in addition to the elastic waist band). Best part about the new model I don't notice or think about them at all when I ride. They wick great and stay up. Sweet! These are a model of minimalism- the integration of the pad is a work of art. Over the years I've tried other brands. None fit and function as well as these. Worth the price.

Every day rides. I like the way the shorts are made. Good waist band and good bands around the legs. Padding just a little too bulky for me . Kind of rolls up on the edges to chaff.

My third purchase of these shorts - historically they have been durable and hold up to a lot of riding / washing. The ones just purchased appear and feel slightly different than my older ones. Too early to really tell but they seem to have gone down slightly in quality.

These are one of the best shorts on the market. Fit is good, cushioning is better.

Pants fit well and the pad is well worth the money.

I have a number of brands of shorts, including high end Italian brands. PI P.R.O. is unbeatable for comfort, durability and especially the chamois. The In-R-Cool model is perfect for warm weather. They breathe and evaporate moisture superbly.

Good quality , chamois superb, fabric has excellent moisture control , only negative is waist band does not have drawstrings, after severals hours in the saddle waist band tends to roll , normally ride in bibs but wanted something different for commute.

Casual road bike riding averaging 30-miles per ride. The shorts are comfortable, appearance is good and they provide good ventilation.

The shorts have several panels that provide good muscle support. The pad is very comfortable and well formed. The fabric does seem cooler and drier in hot weather (85 degrees ). Leg grippers are comfortable & leg length is long enough.
The only knock that I have with these Pearl shorts is that they seem to be cut too high in the waist. I always thought that I was average size--I am 510 with a 30.25 inseam but have had to roll the waist down or else it rides above my navel.

I've used this model on everything from neighborhood rides to the SM100! Never chafing and always comfortable. They last forever, too!

I bought this for my husband. We ride 4 days a week and have lots of jerseys and shorts including some team kits. He says that this pair is most comfortable, well-constructed, and feels good throughout long rides even compared to team kits he has.

So nice! Perfect length , great grippers! Love the sheen of the material kinda like a matte black. The padding is amazing and the way it is sewn in is flawless! No bunching! They feel and look good on and off the bike! I wear these shorts when I want to look and ride like a super star!!!
