Cassette replacement for old school 7sp setups.

Just changed two bikes from 7 sp. freewheels. For those interested the Sram cassettes & new hubs saved more than half a pound from each of my 7 sp. setups. I am hoping for less maintenance and wear at least equal to that of freewheels. My rear derailleur is a 10 sp. Campy Centaur and works fine with an 8 sp. Sram chain & DT controls. Sram cassettes are light & provide smooth shifting. An economical and well designed product.

Older bikes can still run smooth

My oldest road bike is my 21 year old workhorse. For the past ten years, the SRAM PG-850 cassette has been my 1 choice when it's time to replace a worn cassette, durable, consistently dependable, great price. Also works just as well on my older mountain bike!

Works as expected, good value

After breaking a ring on my factory cluster, I purchased this as a replacement. It's shimano compatible, and affordable. Works perfectly, though the ratios may be a bit aggressive for some commuters (it's on my commuter). I purchased it online, WBW installed it for free onsite when I went in to pick up the part the same day.

Larger 1st gear for those steep hills and no chain slipping in the smaller cogs just what I was looking for

Solid option, would be better with a different spacing

Great price. But the steps between gears isn't very useful, in my opinion. I prefer a more linear spacing, with less space between the big gears (think Shimano's classic 11-34 tooth 9-speed cassette). Still, for the price, this does the job.

Reliable, affordable parts

For those of us able to live without the bleeding edge of drivetrain technology, this is a very affordable, decent quality, reasonably lightweight replacement cassette. I've used this model, along with the PC-830 chain, to keep several of my older bikes running, and have no complaints.

I was looking for the lightest 8spd cassette out there. Not much to pick from but went with this. No regrets except for the 241 gram weight.

I only have about 200 miles on this so far but it works well, looks good (as good as a cassette can look!) and was reasonably priced.
