Description

Hands on top.

PRO's alloy handlebars are some of the best known throughout the peloton for being stiff without being harsh and feeling just right in the hands. Comfort been taken up another notch with their PLT Ergo handlebar, featuring ergonomic tops to keep the pressure off your hands while you put pressure on the pack. AL-2014 double-butting tubing retains PRO's light and strong reputation, and external cable-routing grooves keep your shifter and brake lines out of the way so you don't negate the added comfort of the ergo shape.

31.8 mm clamp diameter. 128 mm drop, 75 mm reach. Claimed weight is 285 g (42 mm width). Widths measured center-to-center.

Comfortable But Not Compact

The bar top is a comfortable shape, as long as you set up the drops to be parallel to the ground. If you tilt you drops then the bar top will make your wrists rotate to grab it comfortably. Weight is average at 275g for 42cm. It is not compact with a drop of 128mm, not when some road bars are 123-125mm and gravel bars 116mm or less.

Haven't installed it yet, but I expect it'll be just like any other alloy handlebar. Bought this one because the top bar is flatish so I can get on it on my forearms while on the trainer at home for a change in position.

The short reach and flat top are nice ergo mods for those of us who aren't quite as flexible as we once were. I use Fizik gel pads and leather bar tape. If the extensions were a little longer it would be perfect.
