Reviews
Excellent bib shorts from Castelli! Chamois is good for longer rides. Material is thin for my hot climate, and seems to breathe pretty well. I'm 6'0" 157#, slender & typical (skinny!) cyclist's build, this short fits snugly - not quite compressive, but definitely "race fit" and form-fitting. I've seen product descriptions from others stating that muscular "support" is important, and I'd venture that these seem to do that, I guess from the mild compression. I have two other bib shorts from Castelli, they're all excellent, and several jerseys: Castelli quality is unparalleled.
My first bib short. While running one size small, this is my new favorite for long rides and comfort. I can't imagine buying a different brand next time I need a bib short. Padding is higher quality than any other brand I own. It also has better coverage than all my other shirts. I'm 6', 225 pounds and it (XL) fits perfect for me.
My only regret is how long it took to figure this out.
Just ordered my second pair, very comfortable for any occasion, I have several cycling bibs from Castelli pretty much any cycling clothes you purchase from Castelli is a home run. Make sure you go a size up with this company. But if you need to return Westernbikeworks is awesome about making sure you are a happy customer.

I wanted to try a new brand of bib and I was not disappointed. The fit is tight, but it is a race bib. I based my size off of other brands I wear and I might have gotten the next size up. That said, the bib doesn't bind, give solid compression, and is cool for the Florida summer
Loved these. Recommended by a friend. Road 545 miles in 10-days during an event and they held up great! Hand washed every night (in clothing bags, and hang dried) and they feel brand new.
These are one of my go to bibs for longer days in the saddle. Having done many charitable rides I have a collection of jerseys that are not the best fit. You can get away with less than ideal fitting tops, but shorts and bibs need to be of high quality and a good fit for rides of 100km+
I love the race fit of these and the chamois is just right. It provides comfort without being too bulky.
I enjoy wearing the competizione bib shorts LTD due to the seat pad and restrictive fit. I am 6.0 feet tall and weight 156 lbs. Long legged with a short torso. I take a size large in these bibs. I have 4 men's competizone LTD bibshorts because I ride 5 or 6 times per week. My rides are between 1.5 to 2.0 hours long. I have ridden as much as 3.5 hours in this style of bib short. Have not had any seat issues such as sores using this bib short. I recently replaced my older competizione bib short that were 2 years old with new ones. Have found the same fit and quality as compared to the older competizone bib shorts. Price of these bib shorts are reasonable and sometime I can find them on sale for a few dollar less.
I have been riding bib shorts for over 20 years and have used nearly every major brand. I would categorize these bibs as a solid standard bib. For me, that means that I can count on these to be a quality product that I can use on for anything up to a 100km ride. The bibs fit well and are comfortable, everything they should be.
I followed the sizing guidelines from Castelli and other reviewers and went up one size from my normal sizing. I am typically a Large in almost every brand, for these bibs, an XL fits like a large from other brands. I am 5'9" and about 90kg.
I would say that if you can get these bibs at or under $100, they are a solid purchase. I got them on a sale for $90 and consider that to be a good deal.
These bibs are not what I would categorize as "plush" or something that I would use for a 6 hour+/ultra ride, however, for a 1-4 hour ride, they are perfect.
I am a 75 year old man with chamois problems...few work for moderate 20Mi and long 60Mi rides. As a rule Italian chamois' are the best and Castelli are the best of the best. These bibs fit and they work very well. Price, product and delivery by bike tire was excellent!
I have several pairs of bibshorts, including three pairs of Competizione. For most rides I go for these. Comfortable on my normal 2-3 hour rides, and comfortable for the occasional metric century. The pad is the best! Perhaps a bit pricey, but watch for the sales.
A note about the fit. Follow the size chart. I'm 5'-10", about 190 lbs. I get XL. The fit is snug, but they are for cycling! The straps seem short to get up to the shoulders, but they disappear while riding.
I am 5' 8" and a pretty fit 175 lbs or so (not a super lean bicyclists build but not fat either), I bought an XL and it fits great. My absolute favorite thing about these bibshorts is the Kiss Air2 pad, it is so comfy, I wish I would've purchased these years ago. Much comfier than the Pearl Izumi bottoms I've been riding for the last 10 or so year. I've been riding these shorts in HOT weather and find they are pretty breezy without showing everyone else your stuff. I also read where another reviewer had a painful experience due to the location of the straps. I fortunately have not experience this, but the review did cause me to notice the placement of the straps on these shorts is more inboard than the Velocissimo bibtights that I also really like. I'll be buying more Castelli bottoms because of the comfort factor.
