I purchased the 700x32 size of these tires last year for a ride across the nation on the Northern Tier route. The tires easily handled my fully loaded touring bike, rolled with surprising ease, and handled very nicely. They handled some of my training miles and the 4,226 mile ride across the nation without a single flat. I love these tires. Don't be afraid of their weight if you are in the market for a reliable touring tire that doesn't ride like a brick!

I use these tires for road riding because I am 67yrs. old & consider myself a bike fanatic. I raced into my 30's but crashes almost took away my passion. The Schwalbe Marathon Plus (HS440) has raised my enthusiasm to new hights. These tires represent the best in cycling technology.

I mostly train for tours and, of course, tour-ride, so a little extra weight to avoid a flat is a fair trade. No flats with Schwalbe tires in over 3,000 touring miles. in the interest of full disclosure about 2,500 miles road touring, about 500 miles off-road touring on two (2) different bikes.

Absolutely LOVE the Schwalbe Marathons. Been using them for years, biking at least 10 miles per day in every sort of weather on commute, and have had only 1 flat tire in all that time. Usually swap them out every 6-8 months to keep things fresh on the tread but never hesitate to purchase these over and over again. Western Bikeworks recommenced them to me probably 6-7 years ago and have continued to go back to them bc of the trust, reliability, and expertise in recommendations.

I bought these to replace my knobby stock tires that came on my Giant Roam hybrid bike, hoping they'd make commuting a bit easier.
Really impressed with the quality, very durable feeling rubber that should last for years and many miles.
They weren't that difficult to get on, and definitely improved my ride.
The tread is nice and deep-grooved for the rain, but I haven't been out much yet in bad weather to put to the test.
Definitely recommend these!

I ride two bikes throughout the year...a Road Bike and a Hybrid which is the bike these are installed on. Weather permitting, I will generally ride 25-30 miles three times a week. Puncture resistance is the most important thing to me. Although I've only put a couple hundred miles on them, I am very happy so far. I like the way they handle and based on reviews, I should be happy with their puncture resistance qualities. I also installed puncture resistant tubes for added protection. Let's not forget their looks. Very sharp!

This is my second pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus for a second bike. The first pair are on a Salsa Fargo which were used on a trip down the Pacific Coast from Vancouver to San Diego. BTW, we carried 6lbs of gear on the front forks and 10lb panniers in the rear. We rode 1,500 miles without any flats and is no visible wear and tare on the tires. They are grippy in the rain and on cornering descents. They roll nicely on packed dirt roads (fire roads) but a little slippery over wet rocks. These tires are certainly durable and I was amazed that we did not get any flats on the entire trip. Be aware that the tires are very difficult to put on a wheel and they are heavy (possibly due to the thickness of the tire). Perhaps once stretched out they will be less difficult to remove. I would recommend these tires for touring and commuting.

This is buying assurance of no flat. The rolling resistance is the trade-off, based on my 2000 miles of experience between the Marathon Plus and the Supreme (better rolling for sure).

This review may be premature, so my mind could easily change in 6 months... So far I have around 500 angry street miles on the tires. This means they have punished by glass, metal, nails you think it theyve traveled over it. And, I havent had a single flat! Not even a nick or cut on the tires. I really couldnt be more impressed by the lack of wear and bulletproof build. When rolling, they arent a super speed demon on the trails, but I dont feel like they are costing me more energy or resistance either, kind of a middle of the pack roller, which is pretty good considering how puncture resistant they are. I ridden through snow, hail, ice, gravel, mud, and rain with these tires and so far I have been impressed by how they navigate the more extreme terrains. But my only mark against the tires is how they turn at higher speeds. Maybe it the heavy steel bike with the fully loaded front panniers, but lets just say it can be dicey at best. Even with that said, I still really like these tires and would definitely buy them again. Well only if they reach 3,000 miles, hoping for 5,000...

I like the reflective strip...it really visibly bright when lighted upon. Tires really deters road pinchers. Siding walls are tough too.

Great for winter riding, on our country roads in Ohio they mix fine limestone with salt to spread on snowy roads. These limestone are super sharp, thanks to the puncture resistance I have yet to have a flat. They do have enough rolling resistance that I will be installing smooth tires for the summer.

This tire has been at the top of its game for some time now. It is super puncture resistant my last pair was flat free for 3000 miles. The rolling resistance is surprisingly good can find the testing to prove it on line. I have moved up one size from 32 to 35 on my touring bike and it is now excellent for unpaved surfaces as well. And not as hard to initially install as many say it is. Not inexpensive but worth it for the trouble free performance.

No flats on small pea gravel. I need to get the tire to a mechanic to check to see if the tire is defective. At high speeds I can see the tire wobble.

A bit heavier then I expected but Im not getting flats either.

I can't say I ever strugled so hard with a tire as i did with these to get them on... boy, i am really happy I did tbough. The tires are wide for 25s and really provide a great ride. Only a couple hundred miles but I have crossed broke glass on the shoulder and some sharp gravel washout without issue. The reflective strip also provides a sense of comfort.
