Great for saving costs on single-serve gel packets and also dialing in the amount I need for a ride. Hard to get all of the gel and residue with a hand wash but it cleans up well in the dishwasher. The nozzle keeps my hands and jersey cleaner than the single-use packets. The volume markings are OK but a kitchen scale is a bit easier.
Negatives: the nozzle and top of tube is bulky so squeezing and sucking out the last 1/2 serving is tough. Thinning with a tiny bit of water (about 4:1 or even 10:1 gel:water) makes a big difference. Holding and squeezing still almost requires two hands so I would probably skip this for a stopless fast group ride.
These Polar bottles will fit in just about any cage out there. They're insulated - I've had other insulated bottles, but they've all "sweated" and leave ugly (to me) condensation drops on the frame; these DO NOT sweat, even in 90F+ temps here in Ft. Worth, TX. Insulation must be better, because they retain ice longer than other bottles. Available in many colorways, if that matters to you. Also made in USA! The pull-to-open valve can be a tad difficult to open, but that also means no inadvertent leakage, so that's a plus. Best bottle I've owned - bought one at Hotter 'n Hell 100 this August in Wichita Falls, TX, liked it so much got my 2nd one from WBW. Great bottles, highly recommended!
The Probar Meal bars are always my number one choice for a hearty, filling food break. Nibble away at one through the ride or get the feeling of a light meal during a rest stop. It's not just sugar and other refunded carbohydrates that give you a temporary boost, but then quickly fade. Instead, you get long-lasting, easy to digest energy that sticks with you through the ride and afterwards. Everyone's taste varies, but I like the chocolate peanut butter, chocolate coconut, and chocolate Oatmeal, for when I want a little bit of sweet-and the Superfood Slam when I want something more mellow. I have found that I like all the flavors except Trail Mix. I have been using Probars now for years- one of the very few cycling products that I can recommend without reservation.
Bottle insulates well, is relatively easy to clean, and nipple doesn't get gunk or mold build-up like some other brands. Also like the color and subtle graphics a well. I had high expectations for this bottle given it is pricier that some other big name brands, and it delivers
