I bought 4 of these tires over time & 3 have been great but one of the pair from Western Bikeworks was defective so I gave the tires 4 stars BUT Western Bikeworks is ALWAYS 5 stars in my book - they took the one bad tire back & replaced in a matter of days with zero guff!
Over the years theyve helped out w products Ive needed but couldnt get quickly from anywhere else -
& one Monday two winters ago they helped out a friend of mine who needed new all weather boots right away & they went way out of their way to make sure he got exactly the right boot & the right size - it was pretty cool !
I have lived in Las Vegas for the past 20years. My road bike tires are usually cut to sherds long before the tread wears out. I bought a fitness bike and installed these Continental Ride city tires. I am impressed. I have just over 1700 miles on the tires and hardly any wear is showing. They also smooth out rough roads. I will admit I suffer on the hills. they are not the lightest tires. But I bought them for durability and in that category they are five star tires.
This is my first time using the GP 5000 S TR, and right out of the packaging, these tires are super impressive. They a supple, which made installation easy and effortless. I was able to get them seated on my carbon rims with a floor pump. Im a novice mechanic at best, and it took me less than 30 minutes to get them installed, filled with sealant, and out on the road. Thats a win for me. The ride is plush and I feel like Im on rails when entering turns at speed. Really impressed with these tires. Aesthetically, they look fantastic, too.
I have ridden Continental Gran Prix tires for years, and have always been happy with them. Then a new bike came with Schwalbe Pro One tires on it, and opened my eyes to a whole new level of performance in a road clincher. When it was time to replace the OEM tires, I ordered another set of Pro Ones. These are even better than the OEM tires.
I have a 30mm on the front and a 32mm on the rear. Unlike the OEM tires, these new ones were a snap to install on the DT Swiss carbon tubeless-ready rims that came with the bike. They tout a maximum inflation pressure of 90 PSI, which is plenty (the original 32 mm maxed out at 70). I typically run them at 75 PSI, which provides excellent grip and handling regardless of road conditions. Their low rolling resistance make them fast, and they track very well on high speed descents, even on wet roads. They are supple and responsive, and coupled with Schwalbe Aerothan TPU tubes, are fast and light.
Because they are so supple, they are not super puncture resistant. They are probably not the best choice for daily commuting on crud-covered roads. But for high-performance riding, they can't be beat. Until I'm ready to go tubeless (and I'm not there yet), these Pro Ones will be my go-to road clinchers. They're great tires. Seriously. Get yourself a set -- you won't be disappointed.
