What's great about this product? Unlike Shimano 11-speed cassettes for road use, you can separate most of the cogs on the SRAM cassettes, allowing much more thorough cleaning between maintenance intervals. Additionally, the gearing is a huge benefit for these cassettes (11-36T) over the Shimano equivalent (11-34T). The spacing in the lower cogs is only 1T apart, meaning that the cogs go 11-12-13... and then fan out near the cassette top. This gives great ratios for flats and descents, as well as gear options for climbing. Moreover, these cassettes are EXTREMELY durable - I have yet to break a tooth, and I ride these for 10,000 mi+ in all sorts of weather conditions - they show minimal wear (I do keep them clean between rides, and especially thorough on maintenance intervals). They are made of very resilient steel. Although, they can be a bit louder than the Shimano counterparts due to having many different separate cogs separated by spacers, versus a lot of them connected via a couple of spiders, it is much more practical, and you get used to it. Again, this design makes the cassette much easier to inspect and clean. I would never go back to the Shimano equivalents. I always buy these, and I have never had any issue with them. HIGHLY recommend them if you're on the fence. Shimano "GS" derailleurs will shift 11-36T just fine - Shimano just specifies the maximum limit to 34T as they do not make anything larger than 34T. I've used these fine in 11-36T configurations on Shimano GS/RX derailleurs - mechanical and Di2. FLAWLESS.

Like many others, finding the components you need has been challenging the last couple of years. I needed a cassette with the range I wanted that was shimano compliant. At the time of purchase this one was the only available and met my needs.

Smooth running and nice to have the additional help, especially with the gravel hills in the PNW.

This 11-36 cassette works as advertised, and also works with Shimano drive train and Ultra 6780 GS derailleur (which says it will go up to 34 cassette). It's perfect for my gravel bike when I get on those 16%+ grades.

Bought this cassette for my gravel bike and it works very well. It's lightweight and so far so good.

I put this on my Gravel Bike (Sram Rival 1X drivetrain) to give me a little more gearing for steep gravel around here. Easy to install and didn't have change my chain either. Bike came with a 32 but the 36 just gives me a bit more help when I need it.

great cassette for a 1x drivetrain I got the 11-36 to add just a bit more climbing gear over my 11-32. fantastic shifting and very reasonable weight.

I purchased this cassette in order to pick up a couple more teeth to make climbing gravel roads a little easier. It works like a champ in conjunction with Shimano 105 shifters & RD-R7000 MD rear derailleur which officially only accommodates an 11-34 cassette. A slight adjustment to the B limit screw was necessary. The PG-1170 cassette is quite a bit lighter than the PG-1130 cassette if that's important to you but both would have worked.

Wanted a 36 to get up the hills a little better, and taking a cue from Roglic! I dont climb mountains, but some hills are very steep here in Nashville. Running it with Dura Ace as well, and just got the Red chain which works a little better than DA. LBS wouldnt even sell it to me, said it wouldnt work!

I recently got this for my Tacx Neo for indoor Zwifting this winter. I do about 250 miles a week on Zwift and I really wanted a premium cassette for buttery smooth shifting and this 11-36 Force cassette delivered!!! I got it on a daily special for 65 dollars and went a head and got an 11-32 while I was at it. I did the whole Planet Hoth thing last year but after my insulated water bottles froze solid I knew this year I would spend the cash and stay in my living room. I normally run an 10-42 Sram XX1 1199 MTB cassette on my carbon Giant TCX but after demoing Zwift at the LBS I learned the hills on Zwift were about 70% of real hills!!! this a perfect indoor training cassette and I would recommend it to anyone serious about cycling.

Shimano 11-40 ioverkill and 11-34 is to little for my gravel bike. Sram 11-36 is ideal gearing for me. Also the spacing between gears is a little closer compared with the 11-40. The downside is it doen't shift quite as smoothly as Shimano Hyperglide.

I had an 11/34 cassette but was looking for a lower gear on a hill. I opted for the 11/36 cassette, and it works just fine. I didn't even need to replace the chain.

I now need a wider gear range. Low gears (32) for climbing and high (11) for the decent. Works great

All my bikes have been equipped with Campy, and buying a new bike I was sold to tryout SRAM....
I put 6000 miles on the cassette this summer, and just loved the whole system!!!!
At my age, its better to mouline than push the big gears..... I wish they provided cassette from 13,and up, since I never used 11and12....!!!!

Paired with a CX1 derailleur, this cassette offers plenty of range. Haven't dropped a chain yet.

I live in WA and we do have some longer climbs so I wanted some extra gears as I do more fondo's. This gearing gives me more range to climb with less pressure on my knees than before. I ride sram 1x on the front and this gives me everything I need on the low and high end.
