Review by AnonymousKickin' comfort coolness!by AnonymousCycling Enthusiast2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. These were EVEN better than what I expected. The cleats were very easy to installed and tweak to my specific settings. Nice, comfortable shoe. I highly recommend, if you are looking for a cycling sandal. I use mine for spinning.

Review by HowardThe best foot wear for indoor cycling, gives full support without having to wear a enclosed shoe.by HowardCasual CyclistLos Angeles, Ca2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. This is my second pair of Shimano Cycling Sandals, the other pair were borrowed after over ten years. They give full support and the new design keeps your feet fully stabilized yet you still have wiggle room. Between teaching and taking classes I wear them between four to seven hours a week. I really enjoy the sandal because they let my feet feel the openess while being supported. On the new pair it took me a while to break in the inner sole because it is molding but with the easy velcro adjustable straps it was not a problem. Looking forward to another ten plus years of cycling with my Shimano Sandals.

Review by DougI ride with these every day and they're great !by DougCycling EnthusiastVancouver, B.C. Canada3 of 3 customers found this review helpful.I commute andor ride virtually every day of the year (except in snow), and every day I use these sandals. I use Sealskinz socks in the rain and in the winter. These sandals work great for me.
This is my 3rd pair and the first 2 are still useable but the velcro in particular has degraded. My guess is that each pair has lasted over 2 years of daily riding.
I don't really walk much in them (I change at work) but enough, and they are certainly better than those plastic racing shoes - both for walking and lack of pretentious dorkiness, and in the summer are almost like regular sandals. I highly recommend them.

Review by RickShimano biking sandals are amazingly confortable, quiet when walking and fast for racing!by RickCompetitive RacerColorado in the mountains3 of 4 customers found this review helpful.Shimano biking sandals are amazingly comfortable up to 30-40 miles then the circulation effects your foot somewhat. They are great for off the bike because the clip doesn't make noise when you walk. People tend not to believe me but you can sprint from a start 100% efficiently with great support and feel.

Review by radiocycleThe best cycle touring foot ware you can buy!by radiocycleCycling EnthusiastMorro Bay, CA7 of 8 customers found this review helpful. We've been touring with Shimano sandals for years now. They are the perfect solution for touring. Add a pair of Gore-Tex booties and you've got an all-weather combination that can't be beat! We tryed Keen's as well but they just did not fit as comfortably with the toe box. The Shimano's are comfortable, durable and practical. We use the Speedplay Frog pedalcleat system and they work well with that. Comfortable off-bike as well. Great for the warmer climates that many touring cyclists prefer. My gf wears them without socks but I usually wear a good pair of cycling socks with mine.

Review by jasonJust did not work out for me. by jasonCycling EnthusiastOzark mountains Arkansas Its been a year since I bought these. Rode with them for several rides of up to 30 miles to get them broken in and cleats adjusted before using them on a tour of 1200 miles.
After two days, my left foot began to grow numb, particularly the toes. Tried some adjustments, no better. Began to look for a bike shop to get some flat pedals, but by the time I did the damage was done. Its taken a year for the leg and foot neuropathy to fade.
The other day I pulled them out and put the cleat covers back on, used them on some flat pedals with good support thinking that they would be ok without cleats. Big mistake, left foot and leg numb for several days after.
It sucks, cause they are comfortable enough. No shoe has ever done that to me before or in the year since. I love cycling sandals, and have gone back to another brand thats cheaper but does not kill my foot.
Don't usually leave bad reviews, but its what happened to me.

Review by radiocycleThe only shoe we use for cycle touring...by radiocycleCycling EnthusiastVallejo, CA2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. These are the best all-around cycling sandals that we know of so far. The older ones had three straps and now there are only two, but they still fit well and are very comfortable on, and off, the bike. We use Frog pedals, made by Speedplay, on all of our bikes and the Frog cleats fit nicely. These have nice stiff soles and have held up well. I'll be getting another pair when these wear out. Oh, and I have a pair with SPD's on them, that we use for Spinning.

Review by radiocycleFrom touring to Spinning at the gym, this is the sandal we wear!by radiocycleCycling EnthusiastVallejo, CA2 of 2 customers found this review helpful.Once we tried these Shimano sandals on a bike tour, we were sold! They are comfortable, rugged and just plain fun! Finally a bike specific shoe that can be worn off the bike as well. We did try another brand of SPD compatible sandal but I didn't care for the covered toe box, and it squashed my toes too much. These let your feet 'breathe' while at the same time they are nice and stiff to spread the force of the pedals out on a wider area. If it's a chilly, wet ride, just slip some Neoprene booties over your sandals and ride on! Gone are my pointed-toe, uncomfortable cycling shoes! Thanks Shimano!

Review by mastachinnGood product, good price.by mastachinnCycling EnthusiastSeattleI have used the previous model from Shimano for at least five years, over 30,000 miles. That one was getting old, parts turned brown from UV exposure and I thought the webbing was breaking down. So I bought this current model and so far it is as good as the old model. This model has two straps, the old one had three and the Velcro is still working on the old so I expect the same for the new model. I saw some reviews mentioning a hump being bothersome. Although the sole feels a bit different but I did not have any issues with it. My other normal bike shoes were $200 and they are fine but I prefer the open feel of the sandals. I wear no socks with these sandals but if it is cold, (30's) I wear booties over them. My feet get wet riding in the rain no matter which shoe I wear, so unless it is a cold rain, it is just bare feet and sandals.

Review by AhojCycling Sandals are the best!by AhojCycling EnthusiastMinneapolis, MNThese are my 3rd pair of Shimano Sandals over the last, hummm, 15 years or so, love them! And this new model seems to be of the same quality of old.
I've ridden past models 1000's miles here in the states and all over Europe dozens of times.
Sandals of course are the way to go in sun, wear socks for a chilly morning, but day after day rain is where they really shine, shoes never dry out.

Review by C-SalBikeSuper biking sandal for hot weather!by C-SalBikeCycling EnthusiastSouthwest FloridaI use these sandals exclusively for my road bike. They are stiff enough that I don't get any hot spots on my feet, but they are not at all heavy to slow me down. The velcro straps are secure and easy enough to adjust when I wear socks. There is plenty of strap support to kick out of the SPD cleats. I especially like being able to walk in them and not look too dorky!

Review by SueBiking sandals are perfect for post toe surgery biking.by SueTraverse City, MI USA2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. These sandals. Review by Brubet665What's happened to the sandals I loved so much?!by Brubet665Cycling EnthusiastKissimmee, FL2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. My wife and I have used Shimano sandals for years 'n years. Now, with this issue, it's evident that Shimano has lowered their standards. We've both noticed that the bottom-shaping in the toe box isn't comfortable halfway into a metric-century - this never used to be the case with earlier designs of this sandal. The two-strap design is not good - even the length of the Velcro on the straps is too short and does not allow for a good range of fit. I'd only recommend these to cyclists who can try them on before buying to make sure they are an exact fit in every measure.

Review by ElizabethAbsolutely love this sandal.by ElizabethCycling EnthusiastSt. Louis, MO2 of 2 customers found this review helpful.I use this sandal every time I ride. My husband also has a pair and we rode all Ragbrai in them. I had to go up a size. I'm a size 8 (on the narrow side) and needed the 41-42. After I recd them and tried them on I thought they were too big and I panicked and hurried and ordered another pair one size down. I'm so glad I went w the bigger size. They're perfect, comfortable, and I love them. It's a footbed bottom so I think those of you who find them uncomfortable should try and go up a size. When I recd the smaller size, they fit a tad snug and the footbed hurt. Anyway, I consider this a great buy. Oh, one more thing, I found the customer service to be phenomenal.

I finally needed to replace them and found that the new ones only have two straps. I find the new ones just a good as the old ones. I use them for a lot of touring in Europe and do not have a problem when they get wet. It was aways a problem drying regular shoes. I use rainproof socks with these when it rains which works out very well.
