I liked the compact nature of the front light and how it connects under my Garmin. The LED indicators on the switch also was useful to know when the battery was running low. For several months the unit was working fine. I could charge it up and use it 2-3 days later. But after 8 months, the unit would not hold the charge for more than couple of days, even when not turned on during that time. I could still charge it up and use if for the day, but I would constantly have to keep the charge the unit the night before a ride. I think there is some current leak that slowly drains the batteries over 1-2 days, even when turned off. I contacted Ravemen and they just said to try to get a replacement from the 'store'.

Normally sequels don't live up to the original, but the FR300 is like Terminator 2, a solid upgrade. Longer battery life, brighter, more modes, led status, but still has the sleek shape, mounting options, and curved leds.

The Ravemen FR300 mounts right onto my Garmin 1040 holder. The Garmin then mounts to the FR300. This is a well thought out setup and it is very secure. The light itself is VERY bright and I use the rapidly blinking option all the time. I could not be more pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

It's not a light for night riding - but a notification to cars that you're there - and not one that annoys drivers - Western Bikeworks kicks ass

The Ravemen FR300 is a nice bike headlight that can specially mount onto a Garmin computer handlebar mount, on either the top or the bottom side. I like how the headlight is a flat, compact shape.
This headlight isn't super bright, but I already knew that when buying it. I use it only for making myself more visible to motorists on the road during daytime. I doubt the headlight is bright enough to sufficiently illuminate the road ahead for nighttime riding.
I wish the FR300's power button was on its right side instead of its left. This is because the arm of the Garmin computer left-side handlebar mount, which I have this headlight mounted to, somewhat obstructs the power button. This makes the button a little more awkward to press, and it hides from view the small light inside the power button, which indicates the headlight's battery level.

I really liked it for the first year. I had it charging and went for a ride and no light. It won't charge or turn on.

After 7 months unit will not hold a charge. Fully charge, it lights for 3 minutes. Good idea, but worthless because it won't stay lit.

Should have bought this earlier. Battery lasts though charging is a bit of a hassle. Come with two different charging wires for two different methods. To some this might be a plus but in my opinion not. Otherwise this a great light.

Attaches well to a Garmin mount -- managed to convert my K-Edge mount to a Garmin mount above and below.
Been using the slow on-off for daytime riding -- seems to provide good visibility (nobody has hit me yet...)
Not sure about how long the light lasts -- longest ride has been about three hours so far.

I wouldn't do a night ride with this, it is a good daytime blinky light on the road and that's what I bought them for. Mounts easy under my Garmin, but is thicker than the computer itself, so it stacks pretty high. A little spendy, but it mounts out front on my Garmin mount and doesn't take up handlebar space. Run time on day time flash is great, I'll get several rides out of a charge.

Really needed a way to extend my radar for longer rides. Varia is extended another 100% charge.

This is a great safety headlight with a long battery life. I haven't used it at night as a headlight to light the road/path, but I'm glad I have it so oncoming cyclists and runners on a narrow bike path I ride on can see me coming. Others I ride with have this light, and it's visible from quite a way off, especially in the brighter flashing mode which is also good in traffic on the roads. I have a Garmin headlight that lasts about an hour and a half, even in its lowest power setting. The Ravemen FR300 is far superior, though I haven't tried a direction beam at night.

Nice having a way to keep my Garmin running and provide a day flash for the traffic. Not that my road sharing car friends use their mirrors but it they do this highlights my presents.

Bought this light for daylight use. It has much better daylight visibility than the FR 160 that it replaced. Last about four hours in the high intensity mode. The auto on off feature is not very good. Too many nuisance trips just moving the bike around. I don't use it. It would be really nice if it had connectivity with the Garmin light work. Overall though, a lot of good upgraded features from the FR 160. Switch placement and color LED to determine battery life, to name a few. Plus you can charge other devices from the light using the included USB C cable.

I recommend the Ravemen headlight because it keeps the handlebar less cluttered. One mount for both Garmin and light - what's not to like? The dual sided mount feature of this headlight allows me to run it underneath the Garmin itself or underneath the Garmin mount depending on the bike/Garmin mount configuration. I don't useit to illuminate my vision as much as I use it as a visibility light in daytime riding. That said, I think you could get away with that if you had to. The charge life is pretty good, especially in the flashing modes and apparently it can be used as a power bank for your Garmin if you want to do that. I have not tried this yet.

I have had a the FR160 for several years, but was always was disappointed as the light would often be OFF when I retruned for aany ride over 50 miles! This one lasts as long I would ever care to ride my bike in one day.

Garmin mounts on top of light. That is the main reason I purchased it. Since using it , battery life is good. Also aesthetically pleasing . Value wise I gave a 4 star but still bought. Happy that the light and Garmin 1030 are on one mount.
