These pants are amazing. I previously had an older pair of showers pass club convertible pants. No comparison. The Gore pants are much lighter weight, and much more breathable. I don't feel any perspiration accumulation in them at all. It doesn't even feel like your wearing rain gear. The only thing I am not sure about is how tough they will be in the long run, but I would highly recommend them as they seem like with a little care, they will be some of the best I've worn.
I have used these twice in the last week since buying them. Both rides were approximately 2.5 hours in pretty steady rain. I returned from both rides bone dry. The latest generation of Goretex is everything we have been hoping for for the last 20 or years. They finally have it right. The pants are light weight and a relatively soft fabric which does not flap or make noise during fast (30MPH descents). I ride on country roads where any sound made by my equipment is easily heard. These pants were silent. Size-wise I fit right between a Small and a medium. I opted for the larger size. On the first ride I had a bit of a problem with the pants slipping down a bit and bunching up in the crotch area. It wasn't a big problem, but it was annoying. For the second ride I bought a set of suspenders and achieved perfection. The velcro allowed me to cinch the bottoms of the pants around my booties which kept any water from entering them from the top, a problem I have had with all other rain pants I have used. My feet stayed totally dry during both rides. Also the second velcro tab in the mid calf allowed me to narrow the profile of the pants in the lower legs. For commuters these pants would work very well over jeans or other pants you might wear to work. I highly recommend them. They are a quality product that really works.
As a previous reviewer mentioned these pants tended to ride down enough to put the articulated knees too low causing discomfort. Suspenders helped salvage their usefulness. Breathability is acceptable.
Purchased a pair of these with a good discount from bike tires at the start of Fall 2014.
Bicycle commuter (12miles each way) through mixed route of street riding and park packed trails with several small streams to cross.
Worn over a pair of long johns (shorts when the temperature was 40degrees) and they keep out the elements, keeping me dry with some good breathability. Even when soaked, they dry out during the course of my day (and overnight) and are dry when I don them.
Good purchase, articulated knees and reinforced posterior. Cuffed at bottom with zip. Reflective features. drawstring waist. Posterior zipped pocket.
I would purchase again.
