Unfortunately this pair of shorts lack a proper waistband elastic that could help accommodate the padded area while riding. Feels overstuffed along the groin and somewhat loose. Not my favorite, sorry.
Unlike boxer briefs, liners mostly come in black. Am I the only one who likes to break the mold every once in awhile by getting a pair with a modern art motif? Granted, a liner needs to be of good quality and promote a comfortable ride (which these do), but who knows when a little bit of flamboyance may lead to an adventuress ride. Of course, if you wouldn't be caught dead dropping your shorts and jumping in a swimming hole on a hot day, these liners aren't for you.
I bought 2-pair to wear under shorts. I commute to work and decided I needed something more supportive than a pair of Haines (or less), as by the time my backpack is loaded, it can be quite heavy with a lunch, a full-size Kryptonite, air pump, tool kit, tube, laptop, etc.
These shorts work for me on my commute, which can range from 3 to 12 miles. They fit will and the padding is great. I have only had the shorts for a few months, so I don't know about durability. In addition to my commuting, I have worn these under a pair unpadded tights on a few 50-mile rides and I was very comfortable.
