Used on rail to trails and road riding. Tire handles well but the stiff sidewall made it harder to install.

I'm a spring to fall weekend biker on paved surfaces. Bought these tires about 4 or 5 years ago for my touring bike and haven't had a single problem with them. It also doesn't hurt that they look good and are reasonably priced. Would recommend them or buy them again any time.

Initially these were great

I bought a set of these in July 2014 as I had been getting numerous flats from the stock tires that came with the bike. When I ride it is about 35 miles to work and back on paved roads. They were great for first 3-4 months (about 500 miles), however I have now got 3 flats in the past three weeks. Went back to the store and they said the tire is worn and it's time to replace it - After 500 miles? I thought they were supposed to last 1000 miles

Excellent tires for my riding routes, which include encounters with plenty of goat heads and other unexpected road debris. Good grip. Took about 100 miles to break them in. Ride quietly. Very satisfied.

I am a 74 year old cyclist that has been riding for just three months, and I might add that I am 5'10 and weigh 212 lbs. So you see that I am no light weight skinny fit cyclist.

After reading other reviews about these tires, I decided to give them a try. The price was spot on, and the quality was far superior to the tires that came on my road bike.

I have ridden the tires 426 miles to date and am very pleased with their quality and performance.

Tires held up great for C&O Towpath and Allegheny Passage Trails

Tires seem a bit small for 28 mm and are hard to get on the rims but with roughly 425 miles of trails including C&O Towpath and Alleghany Passage I had no flats and no wear. Lots of gravel, rocks and sticks on the ride.

I tried mounting the tire and it was very very difficult. Their spec or something in the manufacturing QA is no go. Disappointed, will not purchase again.

Honest review.

Please feel free to contact us any time you're having some trouble. In general we've found Conti tires to be better than average when it comes to mounting to rims, but it's also important to remember the rim makes a big difference, too. Some rims are slightly oversized, and trying to install wider tires on more narrow rims can also present difficulties. If there's anything we can do to help, please let us know.

Great touring tire - fast and super reliable for our Euro trek

I upgraded my Specialized Tricross stock tires to the Touring Plus for a European trek and was extremely pleased with the result. 2000 miles including training and the tour, half of it carrying loaded packs over pavement, gravel, rocks, dirt, mud and even the dreaded cobblestones. No flats. Much faster on hard surfaces than the basic cyclecross tires that came with the Tricross. Great grip on some sandyrocky ascents and descents. Rear tire is pretty worn now, front looks better, but I got what I needed out of them. Highly recommended.

The 700 x 32 is the width of a 700 x 28 by most other manufacturers.

I ride a cyclocross bike. Stay mostly on roads but like a 700 x 32 tire width. Have purchased that size from at least 2 different manufacturers and found the Continental tire to be the width of a 700 x 28. Tires are good quality and ride well. I had just hoped for a wider tire. I'll wear these out this year and buy from another source in the future.

Hi,

We have found that Conti tires do tend to run slightly narrow, but you will find variance in sizes from manufacturer to manufacturer across the industry. We're sorry you weren't totally satisfied with this tire. We do sell many other 700c x 32mm tires. If you'd like us to recommend some that run wider, or if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us by emailing [email protected].

Thanks,
Stacia

Sidewalls cracked all around after less than 100 miles

Not sure what happened here. I've been on these tires very little, check my tire pressure & keep it at 70 PSI as recommended, kept it under cover when not riding and deflated them during the winter (had them about 6 months). Now the sidewalls are cracked all around the tires, both sides both tires. An I'm talking a crack every inch. Love gatorskins, looking for a continental product with some tread and this ain't it. I've found reviews from buyers with similar problems. Look elsewhere!

Thanks for sharing this experience. We tend to sell a very high volume of Touring Plus Reflexes, and definitely haven't gotten reports like this in the past, but it seems clear something happened to your tires. It's pretty unusual, but weather conditions can really have an effect on tires. If you haven't already please feel free to contact us for some additional help or a discount on replacements.

This tire is squishy feeling. I have inflated it properly but it feels like the sidewalls are soft laterally. I usually look down to see if I have a flat mainly after going around a corner. Laterally they don't seem to do so well.

I've ridden tons of different types of tires and these are the only ones that have felt like that. Also, they are very very difficult to remove. You need 3 tire levers or you won't get them off.

My last tires were Bontrager 32 mm tires and I am going back to them. Easy to get off, never got flats. They are just hard to find.

I have used these tires for years and on different types of bikes with many sizes. They are the best. Better than the tires that come with the bike.

Reasonable cost, questionable quality

I've been trying to find the perfect commuting and light touring tire for quite a while that's cheaper than a Schwalbe Marathon. I've tried out a couple pairs of the Conti Touring Plus tires and was not very impressed.

1. They're very difficult to mount. I have Mavic A719 rims and spent up to 30-45 mins mounting the new tires.

2. The tread has a habit of trapping gravel, which then burrow their way through the casing. I'm relatively good about checking for glass, gravel, etc. before and after rides, but these tires don't seem to hold up very well. I ended up tossing my last pair after a couple of months of city commuting and light touring (under 500 miles).

I'll be sticking with the Panaracer Ribmo for a good, econonomical city and light touring tire.

I've been riding on these tires (mine are 700 x 28) since 5/9/2012. i ride anywhere from 15 to 60 miles a day and i got to have over 3000 miles on these tires and i cant believe i haven't had a flat yet. Have not took them off since i put them on, they ride really nice, seem to be great tires. Haven't had the chance to do any touring on them but id feel really comfortable heading out on these tires

The 37mm at around 70-80 psi tire makes for a very comfortable ride on the road. These are great for road touring with the occasional off road destinations. The rolling resistance is fairly minimal, and the light tread pattern really makes a difference on dirt roads and trails. I recommend getting the Touring Plus for the casing belt to help prevent flats (an issue I've had with the regular Continental Touring tires). The reflective strip seems effective, but we'll see what road grime does to that over time.
