Comfort and control.

The Zipp Service Course SL-80 Handlebar is designed for optimal ergonomics whether you're riding on the hoods or in the drops. The bar's shape allows for a flat brake-hood transition when riding more upright and a neutral wrist position in the drops when you're tucked in. No need to compromise comfort one place or the other by rotating the the bars.

The SL-80 features a short 80mm reach, which keeps the hoods and shift/brake levers a bit further back, where you need them, while keeping the drops convenient without the need for a shorter stem. The ergonomic 125mm drop (vertical distance from the bar's stem clamp area to the bottom of the drops) places the angled drop position where you can easily reach it while maintaining a neutral wrist angle.

The result of these bar's geometry is better ergonomics in the drops or on the hoods. That's why Zipp evolved their pro-proven lineup of alloy bars based on a steady stream of feedback from fitters and top UCI World Tour riders. The Zipp SL-80s are designed to inspire confidence in your handling while you lead the pack.

  • Ergonomic design to keep you comfortable for miles.
  • Short reach and shallow drop keep all bar positions accessible
  • Strong, lightweight aluminum constructions
  • Available in different widths to suite individual body types

All I can say is good things about this handlebar. Feels great in the drops and grips good on flat top for climbs. Paired with the Zipp Service Course SL Stem... you can't go wrong. Didn't notice any flexing. Atheistically... Beyond Black looks killer!

My 2011 Trek Cronus Pro came w Bontrager ergo bar with sharp bends. It worked ok but could only get a few comfortable positions in the drops due to the angular bends. This became tiresome on long rides. I looked at many bars and the SL-80 seemed like the best option and I was right. The bend is nice and smooth, I could move around in the drops unhindered. I can easily reach the brake levers both in the drop and on the hoods. The moderate drop and reach makes this bar comfy on long rides. I didn't know how uncomfortable the Bontrager was until I experienced this bar. Another plus, I love the look of the bar The middle of the bar is machined nicely (shiny) creating a nice contrast against the flat (dull) finish of the rest of the bar which I've not seen on other aluminum handlebars.

Great bars
by Anonymous

Ive been running 3T Ergosum bars the last several years and really liked them, but it was time for a change. Ive always run 42 but went with 40s and really like the change. The bars are stiff and easy to ride and shift from the tops are drops.

Stiff, light. Looks oh-so-pro

Paired these with the service course SL stem and WOW the front end is inspiringly stiff. Never ridden carbon bars but no complaints with these. On a carbon bike, ride quality is great. Bottom line, they are stiff and i have never thought twice about needing more. There may be better options, but nothing outward about these bars makes you wonder if things could be better. Black etched markings are resistant to scratches from computer mounts, etc.

Solid upgrade

Needed to size up my bars from the stock bars on my bike. These are stiff but comfortable in that they slightly smooth out some of the roads vibrations while maintaining excellent handling. Definitely nice bars for the price.
