Description
Enjoy the grip and low rolling resistance you would expect from Vredestein even during extremely cold and wet conditions with the Senso Xtreme Weather Road Tire.
To make a tire that performs like a race tire even when the weather has turned from bad to worse, Vredestein incorporates their newly developed XWS rubber compound into the Senso Xtreme using their TriComp technology. The result is a tire that gives you superior grip and low rolling resistance in the wet and cold of the dead of winter. The inclusion of Curve Control System® shoulder technology, as in the other Senso tires, also improves the tire's cornering performance.
To protect from flats the Senso Xtreme has a polyamide layer embedded from bead to bead, because you never know what debris is lurking in the next puddle. The 120 TPI provides a very supple ride without sacrificing durability.
The Senso Xtreme Weather Road Tire is available in 700c x 23mm, 25mm, and 28mm (23-622, 25-622, 28-622 ISO) sizes. Claimed weight is 245 grams for the 23mm version.

Reviews
suffered 3 flats in 4 months. In fairness, one of the flats would have taken down a jeep's tire just as easily...still, even 2 flats in 4 months is quite a bit more than i'm used to. On the plus side, grip was always excellent and wear rate was reasonable. I won't be purchasing these again.
Great traction and good puncture protection. Rolling resistance is very high, and under a 98kg load I got 700 miles out of a rear before it was squared too badly to continue. No flats, however, in that time.
Excellent traction in the wet, confidence-inspiring if a bit slow, but wear was so rapid that I can't repeat this purchase. Perhaps under a lighter rider they would fare better. Two stars off for being $0.08mile to ride.
Been riding on these for 4 months (late winter, early spring) in and around NYC's glass strewn roads. For a tire with this much flat protection, I couldn't ask for anything more.
These tires have a much better road feel than other high flat resistance tires I've used in the past. They are heavy, as to be expected from a flat resistant tire, but the grip feels good.
Let me start by saying that I have ridden Vredesteins for 15 years. I was introduced to them by the man who made my frame (Tom Kellogg), I have tried Contis,Michelins,Veloflex and Vittorias. None have been as reliable as the Vreds,so when they introduced a dedicated cold weather tire I had find out if it was the real deal. Let me say that I was extremely impressed in the fact that it felt like I still had my regular Sensos on that are nearly 50 grams lighter, the ride was comfortable as we ride on a lot of tar and chipped roads in eastern pa. The tires didn't feel sluggish like you get with a non racing tire, so bottom line is would definitely recommend this tire even as lighter touring tire for someone who is skeptical of riding a race tire because of their road feel. About me I'm 6'3 192 lbs, tire size is a 700x 25C 115psi rear 110 front Ti Bike.
I'm using these tires on a cross country ride, LA to Boston. 1,000mi and very little wear, Descended Mt. Mingus in AZ in cold rainy weather, great traction on switch backs.
