Description

Vittoria Barzo XC Trail G2.0 29 Inch MTB Tire

Riding technical XC? The Barzo is the choice of the 2015 World Champion, as well as the winner of the BC Bike Race. How can such an aggressive XC tire roll so fast? The magic starts in the center tread, where we place an alternating ridge design, and progressive sipe angles. Cornering duties are handled by the moto-style block knobs, laid out in a proven V-formation. The result is a tire that corners as fast as it rolls, while still offering the protection of a full depth tread. Rocks and roots? Check. World Championship? Check.

Features:

  • 4 compounds in the tread (4C) for unparalleled traction on technical courses.
  • Functionalized GRAPHENE 2.0 compound delivers ultimate wet grip.
  • Progressive sipe angle pattern increases cornering grip.
  • Square knobs offer stability and durability.
  • XC tire with aggressive tread design for the most technical terrain.

    Conditions Specific Tire / Narrow

Tested the 29x2.35 tire on the front for two months in Auburn/Folsom area, hard pack, loose over hard, rocky, roots, gravel. Tire does not handle loose over hard well and slides out easily. Tread measures 2.25 after two months on 30 ID rims. Fast and tough tire for the right conditions. Not for me.

Yep I am done with Maxxis

Mounted up tubeless with a floor pump, has no wobbles. Much lighter and grips better than the Ardent Races they replaced. And the grey sidewall looks great on any bike.

Really good on must any kind of surface except on muddy conditions. Nice cornering and good performance, I have it on my Focus bike with Mavic cross.

    Not true to size

I ordered the 2.35 size and they are definitely not that size. I measured them to be 2.28. They give decent traction and role well but in my hands their performance is extremely pressure sensitive, more so than most tires i've ridden in the past (Maxis (Icon, Ardent) and Nobby Nic) I have used them about 8 times and so far nothing exceptional. I hear the 2.25s are closer to 2.35 so don't waste time getting the 2.35s.

Tires shed mud very well and are fast rolling but the 2.35 size is small. I measured 2.28 for the pair I bought.
