Rocky road.

Teravail's Galena Tire is quick, durable, and designed to tackle the gravel roads you've been dying to ride. Its fast-rolling center tread lets you churn out the miles, but aggressive shoulder knobs let you hook up when the roads start getting sideways. A tubeless-ready design means you can run pressures as low as 45 PSI, but in-casing flat protection still staves of flats so you won't be stuck out in no man's land.

700c x 32 mm. Tubeless-ready.

Details:

  • Standard: 60 TPI, under-tread flat protection, 315 g
  • Premium: 120 TPI, bead-to-bead flat protection, 320 g

Leaking sidewalls (Premium version)

These days a tubeless tire shouldn't have leaky sidewalls. I'm waiting for sealant to take care of this. So far they drop fast from max to maybe 40psi then stay there for a while.

I suspect that the puncture protection actually stops where the leaks start. There is very little info on the packaging and none on the website. I think this company is still finding it's way.

Initial impression is that the peaked profile and nearly-solid center ridge rolls nice on pavement but sinks into soft stuff. As aways there are compromises.
