Description

Stop in a flash.

The SwissStop FlashPro Yellow King Carbon Brake Pads provide superior stopping power specifically for carbon rims in all weather. Drawing on 70 years of experience in the rubber industry, SwissStop has created replacement brake pads featuring some of the most advanced compounds in cycling, with a meticulous production process and extensive research and development. It's no surprise that SwissStop pads have quickly become the only choice for pro riders and amateurs who demand the best.

The FlashPro pad model fits Shimano 9/10/11, SRAM road, and TRP holders, and is available in several different rubber compounds. The Yellow King compound is specifically formulated for carbon rims, offering superb modulation and high-performance on carbon brake tracks. Compared to the Black Prince compound, it wears a bit faster, but its softer compound provides excellent brake feel.

Note: Yellow King brake pads are not designed for use with aluminum rims.

Worked well on my cyclocross bike during most conditions, didn't see much wet weather so I cannot attest to their performance in that condition.

Great breaking on carbon with no noise

I've used Corima cork pads in the past as well as the SwissStop Yellow and while both work well, the SwissStop do an excellent job simulating breaking on aluminum. They have good initial bite with a steady progression from there, easily being modulated as needed. As with any carbon, there is a whiiir sound when breaking, however if these are toed in correctly they should not squeel.

Portland mud, yo.

When I switched to carbon tubulars for 'cross this year, I was expecting my cheap canti brakes to struggle to stop my pretty-big-for-a-bike-racer 185 lb mass. However, with the SwissStops, I found my braking performance to be BETTER and QUIETER than with KoolStops on alloy rims with the same brakes.

They are very pricey, but definitely worth it if you're racing on carbon. I even used them on my alloy wheels a few times when i was too lazy to swap the pads back to the KoolStops for training rides, and they were decent, but not as good as when on the carbon. After a season of use, there is definitely a lot of life left, even racing through some pretty damn gritty mud this season.

Brakes tektro CR720 in the front, Avid shorty 4 (total crap) on the back

Wheels Novatec full carbon chinese imports, which i got used with definite brake track wear visible.

Huge improvement!

These are a huge improvement over the already great TRP brakes that I was running before. I switched to these so I can use them on alloy & carbon rims. I always check to make sure no metal bits are on the pads before swapping to my carbon rims & haven't had any issues. It just started getting rainy & these brakes still perform well & don't squeak like everyone else out riding.

SwissStops yellows go on my bike before the carbon rim competition wheels. These are THE only real choice when you want to STOP & have carbon rims. They flat out work & are worth every penny.

Great Pads

These are the finest pads I have ever tried. I've put many thousands of miles on these pads on both carbon and aluminum brake tracks and love the progressive quiet and strong performance. They are even superior in my own experience than Zipp Platinum Pro pads that are made specifically for Firecrest Carbon Clinchers and after not being able to keep them from squealing went back to the King Yelliws and get all the braking power and feel without noise or pad residue.

I had used cork pads prior to purchasing the SwissStop pads and was very unhappy with my stopping power when it was dry and no stopping power when it was wet. The SwissStop pads are great. There is at least a 25% improvement in braking now. The difference is dramatic. I highly recommend these brake pads.

Best pads for my carbon rims.

These pads are the best. They work very well in dry conditions and ok in wet conditions. They squeak when under a heavy or prolonged load but Im willing to put up with that in exchange for the good breaking performance.

Rim brakes on carbon wheels are not good no matter what. I ride a Specialized Shiv tri bike which is known for terrible brakes anyways. These pads with my carbon wheels has really helped shorten my braking distances.

A big improvement over cork

Bought these to replace the stock cork pads used with my all-carbon Bontrager Aeolus 5.0s. While they are indeed a little grabbier the increase in stopping power is huge. And so far they have remained perfectly quiet. I have not yet, however, had a chance (or misfortune) to try them in wet conditions.

Works well what can I say? Has as much nite with close to the same effort as my hydraulics when in the dry. When wet its a slippery mess as expected for carbon brake tracks!

Great brake pads, smooth braking and effective

I have a pair of both carbon clinchers and tubulars and these work great with either set. Braking is smooth and effective, and the yellow color looks kinda subtle but cool! Training for the Alps for this summer and doing alot of hills, and these always work great on the way down! I don't notice much difference between these and the conventional pads I ran for a short time (to be honest), but I don't worry now that I might damage the carbon rims! Both manufacturers strongly recommended that I use carbon-specific brake pads.

Expensive but in the often rainy climate I live in these certainly have the stopping ability I need in both dry and wet weather.
