The archetypical road wheel.
Portland's own Sugar Wheel Works has been a gem for local riders for years, and we are honored to bring you offerings from their revered wheel building studio. Each of their hand-built wheels is assembled from hand-selected components to deliver you the perfect wheelset that's built to last a lifetime. These pre-built offerings allow you to experience what only hand-built wheels can offer, now without the wait time.
Starting with the H+ Son Archetype rim, this lightweight alloy road hoop is an all-rounder that can handle anything you can throw at it. At only 25mm deep, this won't win any aero prizes, but at the same time it won't misbehave in crosswinds or slow down on the climbs. Jack of all trades, master of none, the Archetype will transition from hill stomping breakfast rides, to lunchtime sprints, to post-work crits like a champ.
And if you're going with an all-rounder rim, look no further than the Ultegra 6800 hubset. Lightweight, smooth, and easy to service, the 6800's are a favorite of road cyclists looking for a no-nonsense worker that can take its share of abuse and not slow down. Lacing down to the lightweigh hubs are 32 spokes front and rear, making this a bomb-proof set of wheels that won't let a pothole or "accidental" curb hop throw it out of true.
