The Best Front Derailleur SRAM Can Make

Wave front derailleur chain rubbing goodbye! The SRAM Red eTap AXS D1 Front Derailleur leverages SRAM's advancements with X-Range gearing to provide crisp and quick bicycle front derailleur shifting; without a doubt the best on the market.

The RED eTap AXS front derailleur also features an excellent Yaw pivot design for trim-free cage operation. It rotates slightly when shifted into the small ring improving shifting while also preventing chain rub. That way, you can be in the small ring on the front and the small ring on the back, and there is still no chain rub.

This front derailleur also has an optimized cage profile for close-ratio (33/46, 35/48, and 37/50) X-Range front chainring combinations. You can choose whichever front gear ratio fit your riding, and the derailleur will mold to that configuration.

Made from a combination of aluminum, steel, and composite, it offers high durability and the lightest weight. It's completely compatible with existing eTap batteries.

For those gravel riders out there, don't fear — the battery placement on the Red eTap AXS allows for tire clearance of up to 700 x 42mm.

Yaw

With a front derailleur cage that rotates to maintain a consistent angular relationship with the chain, Yaw technology eliminates the need for shifter trim. As a result, shifts feel more direct and precise, delivering an unmatched performance advantage in front shifting.

eTap

All of the underlying tech in the SRAM RED eTap groupset, such as wireless shifting, advanced battery power management, and mechatronics technologies, are meant to serve one ultimate purpose: to facilitate the most intuitive and consistent shifting available. This shift logic is called eTap. Right lever makes it harder, left lever makes it easier, both levers shift the front derailleur. Simple, unmistakable, and intuitive.

AXS

AXS is SRAM's new bike component integration system that connects electronic bicycle components and software. The SRAM AXS app allows riders to see battery status, change component behavior, personalize controls, get maintenance reminders, and update firmware.
