Description
Watch it, don't whack it.
The SRAM QuickView MTB Mount for Garmin Edge Computers makes your Edge unit as easy to see as popular "out front" mounts, but positions it over your stem instead of out in front of the handlebars, so that in the unfortunate event of a crash, more durable parts of your bike will take the brunt of the impact. It's a perfect choice for mountain bikers and cyclocross racers, and even road racers will appreciate its vibration-free versatility.
Constructed from a durable nylon composite. Attaches to handlebars with a stainless T25 pink bolt. Compatible with any Garmin with a 1/4 turn twist lock (Edge 200, 500, 510, 800, and 810 models). Claimed weight: 22 grams. Black.

This is a no frills, inexpensive option for getting a garmin on your mountain bike. Simple design and easy install - just be sure you realize that this is designed to have the computer sit over your stem, not out front.
With a short 70mm stem on my 29er, I couldn't mount a garmin 800 on the stem with the garmin elastic band mount as there is no space. With this Quickview mount, I can have the Garmin 800 mounted just above the stem, and it's perfectly out of the way of your knees hitting it, or from potential damage from a crash. Mounted just above the stem is where you want it to be if you have a 500/800 mounted on a MTB or CX bike. Highly Recommended!
Less expensive than most computer mounts, but works well. Can be mounted on the left side so that the arm extends back and places the computer over the stem cap. I prefer mounting it on the right side of the bar so the computer sits out in front. Also sits slightly above the bar, which leaves more room for cables or a handlebar bag if you're like me and have lots of stuff on your bars.
I put this on a flat bar mtb in order to hold my Garmin securely in a place where I can see it. It does a great job of that! I like that it positions the Garmin over the stem so that the bars are free for headlight positioning, alternate hand positioning, bikepacking/handlebar bag mounting, etc.
I found this product well made and very secure for my Garmin 1030+. Not too long out front and not too short to hit the stem but just right. Can be rotated from portrait to landscape. I've put it through some very rough terrain in the Arizona dessert, very secure... After my original purchase, I purchased a second for my other bike. That says it all!
It's light-weight and it holds my Garmin securely. I ride a lot on trails with root and rocky sections that shake the bike up pretty well...in addition to the occasional wheelies and jumps and my Garmin has never come loose. I used to want to safety wire my Garmin, with the SRAM mount I lock it in and forget about it...no worries about it falling out.Plus it make the Garmin display a lot easier to glance at when riding/racing.
This has been a solid and reliable mount, which I've used on both road and mountain bikes. It fits securely to the now common 31.8mm bars. Smaller diameter bars will require you to find and use a spacer. Note that the bolt requires a Torx wrench, not an allen wrench.
Overall, a great mount for the Garmin 800 Edge. With the mount positioned forward of the bars, the screen is much easier to see. The mount can also be positioned behind the bar, on a mountain bike, for more computer protection. Either way, the computer will not be ejecting, once it's mounted. This mount is well-worth the price.
I have several mounts for the various styles of bikes. I got this one for the mountain bike and the cyclocross bike. I have it mounted backwards so that the Garmin is directly over the stem. This clears both the stem to handlebar bracket and the stem to steerer tube with both stems in the 7-10.5 degree range. Locks the large Garmin in place and I have had no mishaps yet. Mount is solid and looks like it will hold out well.
