Description
Leverage The Power Of Recycled Carbon Fiber
SILCA Ultimate Tubeless Sealant uses the power of a foaming latex formula combined with chopped carbon fibers to boost sealing power even at higher pressures. Ultimate Tubeless Sealant contains 5% by volume, 6, 9, and 12mm chopped carbon fibers which have been reclaimed from recycled bicycles, carbon wheels, race cars, and aircraft components.
A unique foaming latex formula allows for the very lightweight carbon fibers to be evenly dispersed within the sealant while riding, which allows for a higher fiber content than possible with Kevlar or fiberglass.
Bundles of recycled carbon fiber are carried directly to the puncture by the sealant flow where thousands of micro-bubbles collapse on each other, depositing their high stiffness carbon fibers over the puncture forming a seal. During this process, the carbon fibers form a dam of fibers against the tire casing not unlike a beaver dam of sticks blocking the flow of a stream. This dam of high stiffness/high strength fibers has been shown to seal holes in testing up to 7.5mm, some 25% larger than conventional sealant technologies.
One thing to note is that Silca's Ultimate Sealant must be poured into the tire during tire install. Because of the high carbon fiber content, Ultimate Tubeless Sealant will plug any syringe or valve hole you try to pump it through.

It does exactly what its supposed to but difficult to maintain. I would also recommend to buy the refresher bottle to top off in between fills. DO NOT fill through your valve or you will clog it.
I am not using this for everyday but races I do not want flats for.
This stuff is absolutely brilliant. It seals punctures that other sealants simply wont seal. If you use the replenisher every 90 days it continues to work as well as day one. Just remember to replace the sealant completely once a year and youre good to go. If I could give more than five stars I would.
Like the theory but reality is just OK. Setup is a bit harder as you cannot inject it through the valve. Per instructions, Silca's replenisher needs to be added every 90-120 days. Don't ignore this and aim for 90. And buy the replenisher with your initail sealant as you will need it probably sooner than you think. At 105 days, I got a flat that did not fully seal. It was pretty small but not sealling. No sealant in sight. I put in a small Dynaplug and still not sealling. I still did not see any fluid coming out so the Silca sealant appears to have completely dried out. No just deminished but bone dry. I not have any Silca Replenisher but did have a 2 oz bottle of Stans on hand. I put in the Stans and the tire sealed almost instantly. I'm sure the Silca would have been able to handle this puncture - if it was there - but it was long gone in just over 3 months. In fairness the instructions do clearly say this is a possibility so I'm not upset. If I stick with Silca, I will have to start checking the sealant level monthly. On the fence as to if the extra setup and maintenance hassles and the cost are worth it.
