A step 'closure' to perfection.

The Drako is Sidi's most advanced MTB shoe yet, shaving 100 grams off last season's Dragon 2 model, while also delivering even better fit adjusatability, power efficiency and all day comfort.

Compared to the Dragon 2, the most obvious change is the Drako's Techno 3 closure system. Sidi places three Velcro®-free retention points across the upper to provide an incredibly secure and precise fit. Their new low friction line material makes fine-tuned adjustments easier than ever, and provides improved durability over last year's Techno 2 closure. The topmost Techno 3 line is linked to a classic Sidi Caliper Buckle for familiar fit customization where its easiest to access from the saddle. Finally the updated Soft Instep Closure System® and padded tongue have been made lighter, helping to boost your competitive edge while simultaneously eliminating pressure points and discomfort.

As always, Sidi uses Lorica®, a synthetic leather upper material while balances a supple, slipper-like fit with serious durability. A rubberized toe guard has also been added for a further degree of protection on the trail.

Another key update is the all-new Drako SRS Sole®. The carefully constructed carbon layup provides outstanding stiffness, while simultaneously offering flex at strategic locations. The resulting design delivers efficient power transfer and all day comfort, while keeping weight to an absolute minimum. This new sole also features a replaceable cleat wear plate, extending the shoes lifetime. Grippy, SRS® replaceable tread ensures traction on a wide variety of surfaces, and the Drako is toe spike compatible for seriously muddy conditions.

New comfort fit insoles use memory foam padding for perfectly contoured underfoot cushioning. The Adjustable Heel Retention Device® features ventilated lower area as well, along with a wider design and more compliant material. The result helps eliminate power robbing heel lift without discomfort.

The Drako SRS Carbon MTB Shoe is available in Black Vernice and Yellow Fluorescent/Black Vernice. Of course, virtually all of the Drako's small parts are replaceable and readily available, ensuring your shoes stay on the road, season after season. Compatible with standard two bolt MTB pedals*.

*Note: To validate Sidi's warranty and to prevent sole cracking, the Sidi Reinforcement Plate (or similar from Crank Bros or Look) highly recommended for use with duel retention-bar style MTB pedals (crankbrothers, Time and Look). The plate is not required for Shimano-style pedals.

This is my second pair of Sidi shoes and I love them. The new clasps are great and they are really comfortable. The price beat everybody and they got here quick. Thanks.

Pro

I bought the all black drake. It is very comfortable and can be set quite tight if needs to be. Best pair yet. Would buy again. About 580 miles total use so far and still like new.

Cons.

Looks like I am going to prom when clean. Whoever thought shiny black was optimal should not work in shoes. Except for the shiny black finish, love them.

I have a hard time getting a fit in cycling shoes. While Sidi's fit me the best, I've had troubles because one foot it larger than the other and I'm right on the borderline between regular and Sidi Megas. That turns into a case where I need to play around with insoles a lot to keep one shoe from being too loose and one from being just right. With the mega width shoes, I'd have issues with the heel cup being too loose.

With these, they seem to be slightly fuller in the forefoot than the regular Sidi shoes. The capstanboa style system has a wider range of adjustability than do other ratchet systems. With these, I was able to get a perfect fit right out of the box on both feet. The boa system is nothing short of awesome in combination with Sidi's padded tongue. My heel is locked down firmly - it will absolutely not move regardless of how much pulling on it I do. It's really pretty awesome.

The other big surprise was the rigidity of the sole. It's incredibly stiff and I can tell the difference in both comfort and in power transfer to other shoes I have.

So these have been good for hours and hours and hours of riding. Love the shoe.

Do note that the shoe will take about 15 minutes to conform around your foot after you put it on. I think it needs your body heat to help it mold into place when you put it on. So with these, given their stiff sole, it will feel like they are slipping a bit when you walk in them. After you ride for a bit, this will go away and they will be locked down to your feet.

What I don't like is the patent leather looking upper material. I prefer the more matt finish of standard Lorica. That said, this stuff is bulletproof and they continue to look like they just came out of the box after much use.

The other thing, and this is not just a Sidi gripe. but the insoles that comes with these are junk. Plan on getting a good set of cycling specific insoles that match your arch height.

I put off purchasing Sidi's for years in favor of other high end shoes.

These are amazing-the ability to make either major or minor adjustments gives this a leg up.

Best bike shoes I've ever owned. Highly recommended.

These are the most comfortable mountain bike shoes I have had. The ability to replace the sole and the adjustment make this shoe worth the price.

I've been riding SIDI shoes for over 14 years, and decided to pull the trigger on Drakos. They are AMAZING. The adjustable heel cup is also a boon, as it helps the shoe fit YOU, not you fitting the SHOE. I'm an endurance/hundie' guy, and have not gotten one single hot spot on my training ride either. These are also my first MTB shoes with carbon soles...Hooked!

Accept no substitute!

Although still expensive these shoes will change your life. I had sidi dominators before and they hurt my feet. I did a century ride the day after I got these shoes and no pain nor soreness in the feet at all. The closure system on these is amazing and creates no pressure points. The only bad thing I can say is no spd screw in clips were included which sidi usually always includes the shimano type but maybe that was just my local bike store that does that. One other thing is when you first try these on make sure you have removed the thin cardboard type arch support sidi puts deep in the shoes many I have talked to said the shoe felt funny at first and then they realized there was a very thin cardboard type packing deep in each shoe. I am telling you for me to write this much on anything is amazing, the shoe is amazing. I use these on my road bike and love them, when you pull or push you really go!

When cost is no object, these are the shoes. I finally realized how critical (really) good shoes are (your connection to the bike, rotating mass, etc.), and stepped up. I only wish I had done it sooner (17yrs on the last pair of Sidi's).

Love these shoes. Power transfer and comfort is outstanding. Waiting for Miami hot summers to see if the venting is a benefit .

Would have given 5 stars, but lack of sole plate between cleat mount area and heal has caused some dicey re-entry's after unclipping on the fly. The Dragon had a safeguard sole unit that prevented this issue!
