When spring has sprung a leak.

There's no mistaking it. The Showers Pass Spring Classic Rain Jacket is an out and out riding jacket. The fit is lean in the shoulders and the underarms so it doesn't drag in the wind, short in the front so it doesn't bunch up on the bike, and long in the back for full coverage. If you're going for a walk on the town, this isn't the jacket for you, but if you want one of the best feeling, and best fitting jackets for throwing down 90 miles in the pouring rain, pick yourself up a Spring Classic Rain Jacket. You'll be glad you did.

The Spring Classic Jacket supersedes Showers Pass's Elite 2.1 jacket as their top road-cycling hardshell. It's tailored better thanks to feedback from the Katusha Pro Cycling Team, who prototyped it during the 2014 Giro d'Italia, and the eliteâ„¢ hardshell fabric is 35% lighter than on the 2.1, a difference you'll notice immediately upon putting it on. You'll also notice the addition of 4-way stretch eliteâ„¢ softshell fabric as well. This flexible fabric is waterproof / breathable just like the hardshell material, but its location down the arms and sides is what allows the Spring Classic its form-fit without restricting your mobility while riding. These two eliteâ„¢ fabrics are joined with fully-taped seams and a wide-tooth front zipper that's easy to use on the fly. It has a draft flap to keep the chill out when zipped shut, and when things start to heat up, two zippered side-vents and a back vent can be undone to allow for flow-through venting.

The collar is specially designed to lessen irritation, and its moisture-wicking lining is soft on the skin. To keep the jacket from riding up, there are silicone grippers on the tail, and additionally, the double-adjust drawcord at the hem can be used to cinch the jacket tight. One large zippered rear-pocket provides room for all your ride nutrition, and this jacket is packable enough that it can either be stowed in a jersey pocket, or if you have the time, stuffed into the rear pocket itself and zipped closed for compact storage.

Available in multiple colors. Features reflective accents for increased visibility. Cut in a race fit. Consider sizing up if this garment is to be worn with more than a light baselayer and jersey.

Great for what the weather can throw at you!

I've had a showers pass elite 2 for many years which I use for commuting, however I need a new rain jacket I could stuff in a pocket and a bit more breathable and more temp range for the road rides. The spring classic fits its all. I've used it in heavy Oregan rain and light showers, zips all closed and all open. It's a very versatile jacket, nice fitting, more breathable than the elite and easily stuffs into a pocket. Perhaps nit picky but I wish it had velcro cuffs, similar to what I think the former elite pro had, which I think would be easier to get over rain gloves this is the only reason I took one star off the rating though I'm still glad I picked this jacket.

This is a great jacket - fits great and keeps the rain and wind out

This is not a cheap jacket, but it is the best rain jacket I have ever owned and helps keep me riding year round in Portland, OR. The year pocket is a little difficult to use with heavy gloves on, but otherwise no complaints.

Ive worn this jacket on many rides now, from in the 30s to in the 50s. With proper layering it is very versatile and the best part is its amazing in the rain. The venting system is very effective and the side vents dont allow water in, even in a down pour. A great addition for winter riding, even got one of a smaller size for my wife, and she loves it!

great looking jacket that keeps the cold and rain out

Living and riding in Spokane can be a lesson in how to deal with all types of weather, often in the same day on the same ride. This jacket keeps the cold and wet out and the fit was perfect for me. My only negative, performance wise, (and you find this with all high end seam sealed garment) is the release of body heat moisture could be better.
