If you have a good feeling about this, that's exactly the point.

The XTR SL-M9000 shifter is where the magic begins for their top-of-the-line XTR drivetrain. Two wider dual-textured carbon shift levers put you in control of all the cutting-edge technology found throughout the 11-speed XTR derailleurs and gears. Their action is smooth with ball-bearing movements, and they now pull on polymer-coated shift cables for a 20% decrease in friction. The mechanism has been improved for lighter shift effort and even tension across the entire gear range, and vivid-index shift feedback provides distinct and assured gear changes. Shifts can be done with the traditional thumb / forefinger RapidFire technique, or with Two-Way Release functionality, both upshifts and downshifts can be operated with just the thumb alone.

The mounts are I-Spec II compatible for a clean and slim footprint on the handlebar. Average weight is 102 g. Sold individually as a right (rear) or left (front, compatible with triple and double setups) shifter.
