Description Chain Quick Link Is A Simple Way To Create An Easy Connection
Making upgrades to your chain is always a pain, especially when trying to add lubrication. Make the most of your maintenance with the Shimano XTR Quick Link, which fits in perfectly with your 12 speed systems. Unlike joining a chain with a chain pin and chain breaker, this master link offers a solution that's more resistant to human error.
The Shimano XTR works by replacing one "outer" chain link with a pair of slotted interlocking outer plates that feature permanently set pins. The force applied to the Shimano Chain pulls these two opposing links into a closed position. By squeezing the links together with enough force, you will see the link come undone — which is why it's also commonly called a quick release chain link.
The Shimano XTR Quick Link opens up the possibilities for cleaning the chain off the bike, whereas breaking a chain by driving out a pin creates a weak spot. Chains installed with a pin are best left on until worn or, alternatively, until you install a master link.
