Designed for ultimate performance with the Deore XT M8100 drivetrain system, the XT CN-M8100 12-speed chain offers improved chain engagement and retention. The Shimano XT features Hyperglide +, allowing a seamless inward and outward shift that is faster with less shift. For quicker and more precise shifts, you now need less effort for the chain to engage in with the next cog, while shifting up or down.
Every chain includes Shimano's new quick link, for tool-less chain removal and installation, making on-the-trail repairs easier than ever before.

The new XT 12-speed system is the quietest, smoothest yet. While SRAM certainly works well, it is notably louder. I own both but do enjoy the quiet of XT.
