Description

Shimano has a long history of providing innovative, high tech and robust components for the unique needs of the gravel and cyclocross scenes. With the new RX800, Shimano now extends the same attention to their apparel line. Think of the RX800 as the perfect mid-point; the medium in a world of large and small. Stiff and light weight for superior power transfer like a road shoe, yet durable, abrasion resistant and sure footed off the bike like a mountain shoe. Carbon fiber outsoles provide the shoe with lightweight rigidity while a one-piece, synthetic leather mesh upper provides protection and comfort. These supple yet durable shoes will stay comfortable long after you get lost meandering the back roads and byways of your favorite new gravel route. With Shimano's Boa retention system, you can be confident that the RX800 will also get you home in both comfort and style.

Features & Specs:

  • Stiff and light weight carbon composite sole
  • Works with traditional 2-bolt SPD style cleats
  • Durable, abrasion-resistent one-piece upper
  • Comfortable and secure Boa closure
  • ~265g (size 42)
  • Women's specific last for optimized, comfortable fit

This shoe is gorgeous in blue. I wear a women's size 9 and the 41 fit well. It's a great shoe to wear with my road bike and my gravel bike- sort of a combination road and MTB shoe- not too heavy on the lugs but easier to walk in than road shoes. They are light weight and have the right amount of stiffness. They are not the easiest to get in and out of, but fit like a glove. I have narrow feet and thin ankles and this shoe fit snuggly- it might not work for a wider foot and ankle...

Bought these to serve as both road and gravel shoes after years of Look pedals on the road bike and SPDs on the gravel bike. Now its SPDs all the way. These are stiff and light enough to be a good road shoe.

Great gravel shoe

I use these shoes with my gravel bike, riding a mix of roads and dirt trails. They are stiff enough to be good road shoes, but are flexible enough to be ok when I have to hike-a-bike in the dirt, where they also provide good traction. I love the color and the material, they clean easily. I haven't had great experience with boa closures in the past, but so far these have been fine.

Outside toe seam came unglued after few wears

I like the shoe fit for road and gravel. But I walked in some sand once and the outside black toe seem started to come unglued. So, these are not anywhere as durable as they claim to be.

I bought these shoes for my wife. She couldnt believe how comfortable and light these shoes were. She told me why didnt you get me these before.
