A double-feature.

The PD-EH500 is designed to offer versatile, secure pedaling on your next two-wheeled adventure. A true explorer, the EH500 is a dual-sided pedal with a traditional platform on one side, and an SPD step-in design on the other. With a light action, the SPD mechanism makes frequent stepping in and out easier than the usual pedal. While the flat side offers better grip for stable pedaling, even in wet conditions.

Features:

  • Versatile dual-sided pedal.
  • One side light-action SPD, the other side flat.
  • Optimized for urban riding, convenient enough for road touring.
  • Includes Shimano SM-SH56 cleats.
  • Claimed weight: 383g.

Bought these for a bike my wife and I share for causal road biking, clipless side for meflats for her.

Used to have A530, which are the same concept but the flats could get slippery but got the job done. This version has a larger pedal bed and with adjustable traction set screws. It's very effective, in both comfort and providing traction with just about any street shoes. SPD-side works like just about everything Shimano makes....which is very well.
