The Shimano PD-A600 SPD Pedal delivers Ultegra level quality in a large platform MTB pedal. Low profile design keeps weight to an absolute minimum while a large platform ensures comfortable support, improved power transfer and recessed cleat compatibility. The PD-A600 is perfect for touring, commuting and road riding when ease of walking is a concern. Aerodynamic shape with single-sided entry. Adjustable tension. Durable Cro-Moly spindle. SH-51 single release SPD cleats included. Ice Gray. 286 grams (pair).

Note: These pedals are compatible with Shimano SPD cleats and are not compatible with SPD-R or SPD-SL road cleats. Two-bolt mountain-type shoes required.

I had the 530's, and while I like the 2 sided option, these pedals are lighter and appear to be of a higher build quality. No issues so far

A very good single sided pedal.

Purchased these for a new bike project six months ago. Very smooth bearings compared to the A520 which I have on another bike. Adjust tension back all the way neg. then add 12 to 34 turn pos. to start with which worked for me. I am 5'-8 at 150 a larger/stronger rider may need to add more tension. A good mountain bike shoe and SPD cleats are hard to beat unless your are a team rider and road pedals are SOP. Another plus, I read in Bicycle Quarterly these pedals have bearings that can be rebuilt. Do not worry about scratches it just means you are not riding enough! Great pedal for the price and you almost forget about them they work that well. Buy a pair and enjoy.

I hate the need for two sets of shoes/pedals - one for road, one for mtb. This pedal solves that problem. I put a pair on my high-end carbon road frame, and haven't looked back. Weight is good, platform is great, one-sided works great on the road when you're not in and out of the pedal a lot (such as MTB), and the SPD system is the same as my MTB, meaning I'm not scrounging around for the other shoes everytime I want to change my ride. Buy 'em.

I tour and was using entry level pedals. The compromise being I wanted a platform on one side. By giving up that feature I now enjoy far superior bearings and the performance difference is huge without a huge investment in dollars. Pedals are bearings first convenience second. I can ride farther with more comfort than I could before.

Larger platform is more comfortable on my feet

I am using these pedals on my steel frame commuter. I like the SPD compatibility making it easy to walk in my cycling shoes if I stop at the store. The larger platform these pedals offer is more comfortable than my previous small platform SPD's.

I got these to go on my carbon frame bike. Took a little while to get the cleats adjusted right, but working great now. I've only had them for a month or so and they're already pretty scratched up, but that doesn't bother me too much.

These are light for SPD pedals, given their price. And for a guy that rides around town a ton in regular sneakers, the extra platform is welcome! Folks say they get scratched up easily... um they are pedals... it is a bike, it gets scratched up.
