Enjoy powerful braking with the CX77 Mechanical Disc Brake from Shimano.

Replacing their CX75 disc brakes, the CX77's have been updated for superior reliability. Once set up properly, these mechanical disc brakes provide quiet and predictable stopping power that is powerful in the wet or dry. With a lower weight than Avid's BB7 SL, they are impressively light, and ready for race day or a daily rider.

These post mount brakes benefit from independently adjustable inboard and outboard pads for ease of setup, and just like other mechanical disc brakes like the BB7s, they are compatible with the short pull brake levers found on most road or cyclocross bikes.

The CX77 Mechanical Disc Brake comes with aluminum baked brake pads, but does NOT include a rotor. Sold individually, enough for a single wheel.

Dangerous Design - do not buy
by Barry

I installed these brakes on my cross bike to replace my Spyre brakes but that was a big mistake. When I was installing them I noticed that these brakes can easily bottom out - meaning that the actuator arm can bottom out against the cable guide before the pads fully close down on the rotor. Well, I thought that I had everything good, I was a shop mechanic and I've been riding for over 30 years, but as the brakes wore in, the bad design had the cable travel stop before the brakes fully engaged and I had a horrible crash that I'm still recovery from. Do Not Buy.

Super Stoppers

I have been using these brakes for the last year and they are super reliable. I like the easy set up; they look great and work well in all conditions. I have them on my Surly Krampus which is a beast and these were one of the first upgrades I made. I also use the awesome Shimano Icetech rotors which stay true way better than what came on the bike. If you don't want to go hydro look at these stoppers.
