Reviews
I really like the shape and it's great for shorter rides (1-2 hours). On longer rides the lack of padding is noticeable, so I wouldn't buy it for all-day endurance rides. Overall I like the Specialized Power more, but this is a really great price so I don't regret the purchase at all.
This Model X Green Superflow is very affordable, fits me well and has good support. I prefer flat saddles so this one suits me well. Look elsewhere if you want a plush, thickly padded saddle.
My saddle weighed 300 grams. I was surprised by how well made this saddle is, nice looking too if that matters to you. The saddle material is very grippy, a lil' more than I'm used to but once you settle into your sweet spot, all is good.
The Model X saddle is dimensionally the same (145x245 mm) as the other SLR Boost Superflow models so it's one way to evaluate size and shape before committing to the higher cost ($100+) of the other SLR models.
Seems quite firm but supportive. Havent taken it on a very long ride yet but with a chamois it should be fine. Love the price.
Also, the material on the top is pretty sticky its more rubbery than the faux slick leather feel of other saddles. Not a problem with Lycra but takes some getting used to in jorts.
Only put 20 miles on it so far, but this saddle is an AMAZING value for the price. I've ridden Specialized Power, Specialized Romin, and Pro Stealth. Tried this Selle Italia when it came stock on a bike, and figured i'd be swapping it for the Pro Stealth and saving 100g+ in the process. The problem is that the Selle Italia is SO comfortable. The sides flex, there's a bit of padding and when I rode it back to back with the Pro, this was just cushier. For the price, it's definitely worth trying out. Will update the review when I have some longer rides completed, but this seems to be an amazing price/performance/comfort option.
I acknowledge every person is different and that saddles are probably the hardest part to fit. My experience was I took the new saddle on a 40 mile loop. Near the halfway point I saw a local bike shop. I pulled in and bought a new saddle, a Cloud Nine, and left the Selle saddle there. I still have and ride the Cloud Nine 1,000 miles later.
Price was great, cutout is in the sweetspot, and Sella Italia knows how to make a great saddle. A little extra padding for my 50 year old butt is nice and the flexibility built into the design allows for efficient pedaling. I sit way back and this is perfect for that.
I have only ridden it a few times and really felt the difference from the stock saddle from my gravel bike. You could tell there's flex in it when you hit a bump and it doesn't hurt your bum. Can't wait to ride longer and enjoy it.
