Trekking Tread For Coast To Coast Tours
The incredibly flat-resistant Marathon Plus Tour 26" Tire (HS 404) is a heavy-duty trekking tread for asphalt or off-road. If you are looking for a tire that will take you around the world without the fear of puncture, the Tour Plus is your best option. While it is heavy, the tread still is fast-rolling, so you will not feel slow on long touring days.
The Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour features Schwalbe's Smart Guard puncture barrier, which is a belt made of the Endurance rubber compound. This barrier provides a 5mm barrier that is especially resistant to thorns and shards.
On the Schwalbe scale of puncture protection, the Plus Tour is rated the highest, earning a 7/7 rating.
The outer rubber is extremely hard wearing and features a grooved tread for traction on dirt and gravel roads. The Marathon Plus Tour also has a reflective stripe on the sidewall for enhanced visibility.

I have a Pedego Boomerang Platinum that came with cruiser tires 2.5" wide that were just terrible on the sand and gravel on our roads. After a lot of research I choose these tires and I am so glad I did. Being 2" wide with a much better rolling tread pattern, these tires have enhanced my workout rides tremendously.
I purchased these tires specifically for the Bike Ride Across Georgia. I played with the tire pressure in response to the various qualities of the paving and enjoyed the ride while some others suffered. These tires performed flawlessly.
