The Perfect Rear Tire For Trail Riding

Rear MTB tires are mainly designed to do two things — increase efficiency with a fast-rolling centerline and prevent fishtailing on corners with ample side tread traction.

Pirelli Scorpion TRAIL R 29 Inch MTB Tire has a medium profile tread design with added traction and durability for uncompromising performance over a variety of terrains. Suffice it to say, it rips in most conditions.

The Scorpion Trail R tread pattern was developed for use on the same wide range of terrains as the Scorpion Trail M. The specific design of the central tread, derived from Pirelli's experience in the world of Motocross, increases grip and stability both when braking and accelerating and gives the Scorpion Trail R unique levels of confidence and reliability on mixed terrain.

The Trail R is made with the SmartGRIP Rubber Compound, which is an advanced compound developed from motorsport experience. The single compound provides constant high grip performance both in wet and dry conditions, even when the tread starts to wear.

This tire is also constructed with ProWALL sidewall reinforcement technology, which increases puncture protection and improves handling at low pressures. An additional layer of Nylon fabric is applied over the casing sidewalls for extra protection and improved cornering stability.

The Scorpion Trail R is the perfect rear tire when paired with a Scorpion Trail M upfront. It can be used instead of the Scorpion Trail H when the course ahead requires a little more grip.

Features

  • Fast rolling, yet grippy tread
  • SmartGRIP Rubber Compound for ample traction
  • ProWALL sidewall reinforcement technology
  • Ideal when used as a rear tire

Pirelli Scorpion Key: The collection comes in four categories — Cross-Country (XC), Trail, Enduro, and E-MTB. Within those categories, they have different models based on soil condition — Hard Terrain (H), Mixed Terrain (M), Soft Terrain (S), and Rear Specific (R).
